One of the best and oldest techniques in SEO is to give your site the same name as your main keyword. Is your site named after your main keyword?

These domains are called EMD = Exact Match Domain

Yes I've bought many EMDs for niche specific sites and I could see how easy is to rank them.
Not working so good as of today SEO trends but still EMD is an important ranking factor.

My site's name isn't exactly an EMD. I think EMDs pose some great SEO potential only if you have high quality content. Even if you have a great EMD name but lack on the content quality, you can still rank low in search engines. For example, if an individual searches for certain keywords that match exactly your domain's name but you cannot provide relevant information regarding those keywords, then they will just leave your site and find other sites with good quality information.

Aside from that, if you choose an EMD that is too restrictive, it might be a little confusing for your readers once you branch out. For example, if you choose a domain name like yoga101 and then later on you would want to venture into pilates or other types of exercises. It could be confusing for the readers since you have a very restrictive domain name.

That being said, of course having an EMD isn't all bad. But remember that it is content that matters most all the time. Good luck!

Well, actually, a lot of websites have done well even though they don't use a targeted keyphrase or keyword in their domain. They are really not needed. However, the title does need targeted stuff usually. Note, sometimes having targeted words in your URL can help somewhat, but it's still more of a shortcut method. However, shortcuts might sometimes be an excuse for producing a website that could have been much better. For instance, who is going to work harder on a website focusing on used cars? Someone with UsedCarTown.com and UsedCars.com or someone with a name like HotDeal.com?

  • yоu саn usе yоur tаrgеt KWs in yоur dоmаin if its аvаilаblе, it will nоt аffесt yоur SеО,but if yоur tаrgеt KW is spаmmy whiсh саn аffесt thе usеr еxpеriеnсе thеn it will impасt yоur rаnkings.

A few years ago I think that strategy still worked on Bing and Yahoo - even though it went the way of the dinosaurs with Google. Nowadays, though, it has to be on its way out everywhere. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean that you cannot use an exact match domain - only that it cannot be seen as an easy shortcut.

My blog's domain name is different from the keyword. I am not really looking for being at the top of the SEO ranking but it doesn't really matter to me as I blog as my hobby.

Like you say, if you are simply using your site as a hobby and you don't really care about keywords and ranking then it isn't really going to matter WHAT you call it, but for those who are targeting rankings on a search engine then I do still think that using a target keyword as a name is helpful.

It may not have the same impact as what it did in the early years of SEO, but as the saying goes 'every little helps', and if you are able to incorporate the keyword into the title then it's still advantageous to do so and it's still classed as one of the basic SEO principles and techniques that people use.

As an AI language model, I do not have a domain name or a target keyword. I am a program that processes natural language input and generates responses based on my training data and algorithms. However, for websites, having a domain name that includes the target keyword may be beneficial for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes. This can help the website appear higher in search engine results for relevant queries. However, it is important to balance the use of keywords with creating a memorable and brandable domain name.

It is not always necessary for your domain name to be the same as your target keyword, but it can be helpful in some cases. Having your target keyword in your domain name can give you a slight advantage in search engine rankings, but it is not the only factor that search engines consider when ranking websites.
It is important to choose a domain name that is relevant to your website's
