In Nigeria , having a transport business very lucrative.
People while travelling to a long distance within the country normally prefer to use public transportation than private cars .

With the effect of this pandemic , the price for transportation is doubled which means more money for transport companies.
Is transport companies business lucrative in your country?

The government of Nigeria didn't monopolies transportation business or sector so everyone can engaged in different ways to make money from because it is very lucrative. Be it domestic or international.

Your opinion is valid, there are some countries where government control transportation at all levels but Nigerla allow public private partnership which has made life much comfortable as it is source of income to lots of people.

I am from Nigeria and I can say that transportation company business thrives here. Its a sure way to get rich quick. However, the owner of he business must be fully and actively involved in it if he or she doesn't want to run at a loss or fall into the hands of dubious people.

Yeah, sure. Some people do it as a side job and the pay is really good, it's profitable and I've got lot of my friends doing it, but it all depends on the countries situation at that particular time

??? Them don increase fuel money ??

This is the time those transporters make serious money. They just dwell on the increment and inflate transport fees by a higher percentage compared to the increment.
Sadly, even the government doesn't care.
I have been wondering if our governments don't read news, or they don't mingle with people to feel what is going wrong

This pandemic period was an opportunity to transporter because the social Distancing made transportation cost to be higher for people that needed to move as matter of urgency.

Well it's a good idea as a business but during this period of pandemic things really change the price increase while some transportation are not working because of inter-state lock down

In my country the inter state lock down is relaxed now so vehicular movement is not districted but the number of passengers are reduce per seat making the t-fare to be increased by 60%.

Yes transport business is very lucrative and profitable but with a lot of risks. It all boil down to the transport business manager. Also, maintaining the various transport means i.e. ( trailers, buses, cars, etc) may be challenging

We recently had to engage some trucks for some distribution and delivery work ànd I must say those guys are making huge money. Just a trip and their profit is running into thousands. It is a really good business if managed well.
You are very correct transport business is a very good type of business which anyone can do but its require alot of maintenance cost so you need to set aside some money for the maintenance, its really a good business which anyone can do.

You are so right about maintenance of the vehicles since it can gulp a huge part of profits made. That is where very good management comes in.

In my country the competition between transportation companies are very high but owning a car can be such a pride, that's explain the forever traffic jam situation like everyday. Here people prefer to commute with their own car/motorcycle rather than public transport because they feel safer somehow and can be more flexible, sometimes public transport doesn't cover all area.

That is obvious to many countries .Covid19 has caused a lot.In my country they have also asked the transport have the testing Kit's. I think that was so expensive for them to acquire the Kit's. The services was stopped and the prices were so high before they could access what was required. As a requirement also that the 14seater vehicle carry only 8 people. It's a very hard time also because the 8 carried must compensate for the empty seats and the price of fuel was not lowered. I hope the governments will intervene soon.

People traveling out of use public transportation because they are more secure than private transportation.
The companies doubled the fees to observe social distance and to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
