Selling merchandise (customized shirts, hoodie, cup etc) is really getting popular especially among Artist, YouTubers and live streamers. I know for a fact that they get certain commission for every purchased merch but my question is can someone without a very large fan base pull this off?
Personally am not the kind of person that will purchase a shirt with a random YouTuber logo on it, let alone some random internet user own.
So is this even worthwhile for someone with little or no fan base?

Well it's now in trend but without large audience or fanbase you can't do anything so it's better to build a good amount of peoples group, blog or your own youtube channel and then there you can promote your merchandise.

I think selling merchandise is on the trend nowadays but how lucrative this business may be depends largely on the fan base. If you really want selling merchandise to be more lucrative, you have to find ways of improving your fan base.

Indeed, you just need to follow the trends think of a way to put the idea in your merchandise. There's a lot.. actually Kpop and anime are some of those. Teenagers tends to go after them.

Exactly the point,without pulling numbers you won't likely achieve your dream.This has been said over and over again that you really need quality organic traffic in order to achirve or get conversions.

For me, any kind of selling is a good business because it is one of the easiest to earn money. If you are good in marketing then you can sell almost anything provided you have a market base. For a small business the usual market base is the neighborhood or community. That would be a good start to expand later when the business is getting sales.
