Facebook's digital currency Libra was launched in June 2019 as a way to fight other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, but it hasn't gained much popularity from the public. It is not fully decentralized because some major US banks and governments have some amount of control over it. This also means that it is not as volatile as the other cryptocurrencies out there. However, Libra is still a new digital currency and it can never replace the all popular bitcoin. Libra is still unknown and I don't see the point of using it.

Libra is bad simply because Facebook itself is bad and the crypto itself is not fully decentralized and can be manipulated by the government.

I wanted to know about your thoughts on the libra project of facebook. There was a lot of buzz when it was launched but now i dont see any news related to the project. Its going to start in 2020 but there is no buzz or articles on forums. What are your thoughts on this. Wikipedia says the coin is going to launch or projected in 2020

I guess the coin was not really marketed as suppose , I can't recall if I see the ads any where on my Facebook page . The airdrop event was not so loud for most people to hear. They can still lower the price of the coins and run more ads.

I saw this thread and was actually surprised -- Libra? I had totally forgotten about that!

Before launch there seemed endless articles about it, but I have heard nothing about it for ages - I wasn't even aware it had launched!

But, of course the cornavirus has rather overtaken the news - there seem to be very few stories about anything not related to the virus, possibily once the world gets back to normal we will hear more on Libra.

Libra was not properly introduced to us, its developers did a really poor job on educating us as to what libra really is, even facebook users has no idea what libra is and supposedly that libra is to be launched on facebook

The handlers of the projects didn't do their homework very well, the coin would have been one of the strongest coin at the moment but if merchants are backing out from using it what else.

Yes it is a bad currency that would exists. It is not decentralized and banks have full control of it and can manipulate the price anytime. I heard it would be released this year. It is finally coming to reality?
If banks have full control over it then it might be a coin created for just Facebook transactions not for all digital transactions purposes.

In my opinion Libra can't fight Bitcoin. Though backed by world's most popular social media company but it doesn't necessarily mean that users will love Libra just like they love Facebook!

Well! You have a point but don't you think that if the handlers had package the project very well the Facebook users will love it and it will be come more popular.

I heard Facebook will soon open their own Facebook store on their own platform, I wonder if they will use Libra as one of the payment options there.

Libra is a cryptocurrency which should not be considered as facebook coins as the price will sharply fall and sharply increase which is what difficult to work with normal facebook rules and regulation.
I guess there was a libra faucet that used to pay 1 or 2 libra every 1 hour and there was also a referral program too . I was claiming but not sure why did I stop claiming after some days

Facebook is bringing Libra to crypto world. Interesting to see if it can be listed on coinmarketcap. Then we can see how it can stay on top 5 fighting with Litecoin or Tether.

We are not so sure Libra can be popular or not in future. So far its not as promising as facebook expected it to be. may be it will not be listed in any exchanger too.

Well I'm not sure about it. But I have a query RBTC ! have you heard about it? In BTC market its value 1.3 BTC so more valuable than BTC at the moment. it was 0.95 BTC some months ago. May be we can check its profit scale can be more than btc.
