This is also a search engine which is also like Google (if not better), some of it source code can be found on GitHub. It boast as a "search engine that doesn't track you" which was the major reason that made me to consider it. I have been using this search engine as my main search for months now and i never noticed felt any difference.... although I still Google sometime though :)
I noticed alot of webmasters are not considering it when they think of ranking their website on search engines and I consider this a missed opportunity cause i know a bunch of people that solely use this search engine and are advocate for it :)

The searchvolume ofduck duck go is too low to consider it as a viable alternative to Google. You have to min/max time/investment and targeting low traffic searchengines is not a smart idea. Only when you deal with more time, and most webmasters have no time to spare for such things when building traffic thro Google has a higer priority.

It's ok if Google gets higher priority, afterall it's the most popular search engine. But all am saying is that most webmasters don't care about how their site rank in other search engine e.g Duckduckgo... IMHO i see this as a wasted opportunity

How is it a wasted opportunity? As I said, it is time wasted on little results if you persue seo on duckduckgo.

You only have 24 hours in a day, better get the maximum results each day instead of pursuing low amounts of traffic.

I hope this explains better why webmasters dont pursue duckduckgo.
Webmasters ignore it for a reason.

This same argument can be made for all the other search engines that arent Google. In fact, even Bing is usually not worth the trouble to put effort in.

So webmasters are not forgetting about duckduckgo, they just chose to use their time more efficiently.

Makes sense! Not trying to convince anyone here, was just inquiring... got my answer, though that will not change the fact that me and majority of other will keep using it. It just like Linux, some devs don't care about it but alot of people like me believe in it and will keep using it

Yes i agree.
Google is the most popular, so people give it more than other search engines.

I mean Google is like 90% of all the searching engines.

Even more, I would said 95%. Almost all users use Googe search enigne so webmaster very rare prepare site for other engines. Some other good search engines are Yahoo and Yandex.

No, but I should be. The % of traffic from duckduckgo to some sites exceeds 10%. Especially in some niches - crypto, privacy related etc.

I have been using DuckDuckGo for many years and my major reason for having preference towards that search engine is that it's not as obnoxious as intrusive as other options. It works perfectly for me and like you, I will keep using it!

Since I got approval from ads network for my movie site, I will try to rank here better on DuckGo. Maybe it's easier than on Google since competition is lower.

As gurus in the house have said earlier, Google is still by margin the number one most used search engine. I noticed that majority of people that use Duckduckgo are mostly nerds/geeks and since you are hosting a movie site, ranking on Google should be your highest priority since that is were i assume you will get a larger organic traffic.

I know. I will do some SEO stuff for Google ranking but I will try some for DuckGo to. Who knows, maybe one day somebody will need DuckGo optimization so will have some experience in that area.

What would you need to do to specifically rank for duckduckgo? I know my username is ranked #1 on Google and even though I didn't do anything to rank on duckduckgo it's #1 on there too. Don't they just feed off the Google rankings?

Similar to Google ranking. You need to buy searches of specific keywords and visit your to your site after Search. That is how all Search engines work. But also content need to be similart to keyword, regulary updated.
You got at First place on DuckGo since somebody who use that engine Search your name or your content and visited your sites.

Whatever the reason, I'll take it. I do have to admit the look of the DuckGo site is very nice and there is a lot less clutter than Google has. I appreciate the fact that they are not going to interfere with my life every time I turn around.

Sometimes I go there or Yandex since I can find some other sites with different information. There was some very useful information that I could not find on Google.

Does this search engine duckduckgo use their own api or they use Google's just like the many others out there? I am a webmaster and my target is to rank high in a search engine which sends me most traffic. I get 95% from google, 1% bing aka yahoo and the rest referral. That is why I stick to Google even for my searches. Google is trusted.

Duckduckgo gets the traffic from the bing search results. So optimizing for the bing definitely helps out. Though considering those who use this search engine don't click on ads. So you are not losing anything by optimizing for this search engine. And there is definitely not much shopping intent of such search engine user. So it's not really worth for focusing on that traffic source.

i don;t think so, duckduckgo is a new comer, but yes it has less intrusive ads , other than aloha browser is a must one , a nice browser without tracking and in-built vpn

what is the updated analysis of duckduckgo as of 2021 now?am sure the search engine has evolved and built its stamina on the market to compete with the large search engines out there like google. Are webmasters migrating to it now and if we could have user experience share it would help.
