Alexa is a well known ranking metric. Does it matter for any website? But, I personally found many outstanding blogs with >1 million Alexa rank. I agree that mostly direct advertisers advertise on <1,00,000 rank blogs. But, do you think as a webmaster I should give importance to Alexa?

As you know....I need to pay a monthly fee of hosting and domain and etc. etc. and I was in school....didn't have enough budget for my website. But it is my goal this year and next year to build a great website that I could monetize.....I also planning to creat an online store or E-commerce store.

Btw, @way2earning I checked your site. And wow! did you write the content yourself? You have a PLUS A in English haha. You're English is Excellent my friend.

Well done! ;););)

Yes I can understand your problem and it is difficult to pay for hosting stuff. Wow you have an idea and hope you accomplish it. Be cautious while managing blog and E-commerce at the same time. Hey thanks for your sincere feedback.:Smile: . Yes I write the content and I don't have any writer. Are you kidding?:Smuggrin: My English is bad.:Cry:

Many advertisers use this metric, the Alexa stats to decide if they advertise or not on that website. It's important!
Okay that's great. Thank you Mr.B for clarifying my doubt.

Alexa is fake ranking. It does nnot know your real stats. Many advertisers use it because they fall for such fake reputation. Real SEO agencies and the advertisers check for the domain authority and the quality of the websites. That's how the stats are being mislead. I'd believe in google anaytics stats over alexa rank. Because google analytics has real data. and alexa has fake stats and adds no value to the websites.

I think the alexa ranking is important for advertisers only bout not for ranking your blog or website on google or any other engine.

There are very demands of high ranking websites by advertisers, personal advertisers may use alexa to find a place for advertising their product.

I can't really say that its downright fake...ofcourse datas are not always accurate. But I would prefer google analytics....more than anything else ofcourse...unless those paid services, I choose paid services.
Alexa has no trackers on our website. And they don't have trackers on our servers either. So how come their data is going to be accurate. Alexa toolbar collects the data. And that's the only measure they have. So such data has to be fake for sure. I know one thing for sure google analaytics and our own servers are more accurate. and it'd be reasonable to make use of the data they are giving us. that's what I think in such case. it'd be lot better in that context. it can show you how good that can be for the website as well.

There is possibility that Alexa ranking can be doctored, however Alexa is well known and it has ni reason to do that. Google use it's own ranking page, it do not care about Alexa ranking.

The whole Alexa ranking algorithm is manipulated and anyone can fake it. The traffic analytics is worse and inaccurate. We can completely trust Google Analytics when it comes to standards. But, even today advertisers trust Alexa because of its brand name. The bloggers who look for making money from blogs must give a damn to Alexa. But, bloggers who don't care about earnings must not give a damn to it.

So it is good for bloggers, when people do not get Adsense approval, and you know Chitika did not works, then their best choice is to get their own hired ads. Just Advertisers are satisfied for clicks or some time based appearing, then everything is fine.

No only the low quality advertisers check for alexa. Ever heard google adsesne making use of the alexa? NO. The day google adsense tells you that alexa is important that is the day I am going to believe it. till then the fake ad networks and the publishers who want to believe in it can do so at their own risk. they are the one losing the money and time over the fake stats which does not matter much in real life.

I'm not familiar with alexa.. actually I just learned it today.. maybe I will search it on google for further information about it.. sounds interesting for me..

I never used Alexa myself on any of my blogs, and when I go check them they all have insufficient stats.

Which is pretty weird because some of my blogs are competing on high rank niche keywords and my sites are top in google on those keywords.

We are talking about blogs with more than 1K page views a day. Not much, but should be enough for a ranking on Alexa right?

Alexa stats show up when you are below TOP 100,000 sites in the world.

Yeah the stats dont show up. I get a rank from them, but the infographic you posted earlier stays empty for me.

Edit: The only information that is public and mostly incorrect is the top keywords.

You are in TOP 7,569,836, you must be under 100,000 top sites to see that graphic and further analyze your data from Alexa.
