We all realize that crypto scams are extremely normal and with how progressively basic it is there are significant safety efforts that we need to take to guarantee that the entirety of our assets remain safe. Conor Freeman, a 21 year old person, was condemned to a long term jail sentence in the Dublin Criminal Court by virtue of his crypto scam, with which he had the option to misdirect individuals out of more than 2 million US dollars. At the point when Conor was captured he had 142.7 bitcoins in his ownership.

What intrigued me about this case however was the idea of the scam, as it was done through a SIM card hack. The regular multiplying tricks and the ransomware are known to us all, anyway the idea of this trick was considerably more complicated. It appears to be that Conor, along with six others, looked for their victims via web-based media (social media platforms) and afterward got their email address and private contact numbers through the mobile providers. They then copied the SIM card of the victim, and therefore was able to recover the passwords, etc.

When captured, Freeman had just spent over 150k US dollars. This is the ideal opportunity for us all to be extremely cautious with crypto as it appears to be that this is another trick strategy that I have never found out about. It is likewise critical to get all passwords far from your telephone as these can be hacked. Such passwords are better kept as a printed version to keep this from happening to any other individual later on.

Good that he was caught and undergoing what his other mates go through from stealing and hacking. Stiff penalty should always be applied in cases like this

Good thing he was caught i hope the money is recovered and returned to their rightful owners, i hope other hackers and crypto scammers get caught too.

Hmm it's obvious that bad karma can give you bad results, as he tried to stole btc , he got his fruit, and met the consequences, of jail.

Everyday there are new means of scamming invented by fraudulent individuals, for a 21 years old man a long term jail sentence is not just only going to destroy his chances of living a promising life, it may as well break his spirit and will, by the time he is released, if he ever gets released he's definitely going to be a shadow of his former self

that is bad with the upward demand of kyc even in crypto airdrops it always look to me sometimes fishy and i never get to that airdrop , basically these hackers are using people ids for such big hacks and events and mainly they are paying bad tokens which never get listed as well ,people should be more aware and choose these type of events with care and proceed only without kyc if needed to be safe of their private data

This quite surprising. It seems that every new day, Hackers are developing new strategies for stealing . He should be ready to face the law the same way he was active in carrying out the act.

Well, this isn't the first time I've heard of cryptocurrency theft. With this I'm starting to think that, we don't have the security even on our non "palpable" money!
However, many want to stay away from social media, also for this reason (decrypted passwords, simm cloning, etc.).
Nowadays it is more than necessary to raise the guard on everything!

This really bad and am very sure that they will obviously increase his or her jail term as time goes on because the amount of bitcoin ,he stole was way too much

The jail period is never a function of the amount of money stolen ,but as a result of the gravity of the offence committed. If the former is the case , Twitter bitcoin scammer should be spending years in prison .

I am confident that the bitcoin stolen will be recovered and he should also served the jail in hard labor because this is highly a criminating. We need to be extra careful.

That dosent apply in every country and everything offences , i think every country have its own settings and laws attached ,so if that amount is stolen he might spend more jail term

this scam/hack is quite big brain to me and kinda complicated as they need to actually make a direct copy of the sim card to be hacked, though I guess as more securities are evolving I guess also scam tricks and methods are also evolving

The cryptographic scam is becoming normal in these times due to cyber fraud and it can be said that there is a lot of insecurity on the web, but despite that the platforms are taking measures in the area, each time cryptocurrency transactions become more complex to have more security and validity.
