It was stated that tens of thousands of ASIC devices operated using illegal electricity for Bitcoin mining in Iran were seized.
According to the information that Tasmin News Agency passed on Sunday, approximately 45 thousand ASIC devices were seized.
Do you think this practice of the government is related to illegal electricity or could there be another reason?

From previous news, Iran has created an environment where it is easy for the government to control mining activities, so, it may be illegal but more because it is out of their control IMO.

It's hard to understand what's going on. Maybe it's true that they actually use illegal electricity. The number of devices they confiscated is quite high.

Iran had supported mining of Crypto currencies for long with very little charges so for some people to bouycot the rules for illegal mining, the step taking is very good one.

Yeah i think they deserve that because how can you mine illegally because the government generates revenue from that means , and also mining consumes more elrtricity power

Venezuela and Iran has cheapest electricity cost and the charges on licensed miners is not much , so everyone that means serious business won't evade such tax.

I think it is the right call since the miners were Mining illegally . This is to help check criminal activities ,and also give legal miners the support they need in their mining. Without actions like this , more secret mining will exist .

This situation is actually like a situation that has been experienced for a long time. In a way, Iran, which has had a difficult time under embargoes, did not interfere with this situation before.

I also forgot to include a point in my post. As far as explained, I had read it from the press. In Iran, Bitcoin miners have to somehow sell their bitcoin to the state.

I think there is no issue selling their bitcoin to the state and i know that when those miner are selling their bitcoin to the state ,the government would use that means to gain fees and extra revenue for themselves

It could just be about illegal usage of electric power without corresponding payment to the government. It can a deceptive thing to do to the government

What you say can of course be. In addition, in Iran, miners have to sell the bitcoins they produce to the state. Maybe they want to control them completely.

Apt, I'm seeing it that way, you know the government 8s even trying to be in control of cryptos if given the chance but investors are trying to stand against this. So your point might just be it

The seizure of this large number of devices by illegal mining suggests that the government of Iran lost control of the mining activity.
I think looking at the population in the country they can't always keep in tab and be in control , but i am happy they have been able to fetch out the culprit
