The Iranian government recently licenced 14 mining Crypto currencies farm, this according to mehr news agency.
Each mining farm has a 300 megawatt electricity capacity .
The miners pay as low as $0.01 to $0.05 killowatt hour for electricity, this has made lots of miners emigrating to Iran though effort to curb illegal miners are on top gear as the Electricity transmission company in Iran was able to identify 1000 illegal miners in the country.

This is very good at least its going to encourage those miners to mine more crypto and those illegal should be face the law for mining illegally I thik

Government encouragement very important this can't happen in my country, I think this should be an important message to other governmental power.

Countries that see potentials in the Crypto currency been a future coin are seriously Investing into the project to ensure they stand out if the Crypto currencies become the major coin for transactions.

what do they mean by 'illegal miners' ? it's not an organised domain in iran as far as i know, but if they organise it, that would be a great thing

It is possible that some miners are not registered in their relevant authorities so they are regarded as illegal miners in this regard. No matter how secured a country is illegal miners will still exist.

I am glad each time I read the efforts made by different countries in encouraging the use of cryptocurrency .
This is a good move by the electricity company , and it will reduce the cost of cryptocurrency in Iran .

This is indeed a welcome development as this move will promote the use of cryptocurrencies in Iran. They must step up efforts in the direction of arresting the influx of illegal miners, else their efforts will be defeated

They have already started that , more than 1000 illegal miners has already be caught .
I think the fight won't stop as more miners will still sneak inside in order to enjoy the benefit .

I wonder how hard is it to acquire mining license in Iran, if the price or requirements is high then it will be hard for many miners and they will resort to illegal mining.

The illegal mining is the only option because due to this law that favors mining in Iran , getting mining license won't be an easy task at all. Even when one does , the conditions may be challenging .

I guess with this there would be more miners, and with that because of legal issues and the costs they would be spending most would switch to illegal mining

They are intensifying their surveillance system to track out the illegal miners, it is through the effort that helped them to identify the 1000 fake miners.

That's a good strategy because if they feel reluctant about it , they will definitely be at the losing end due to more miners using the advantage .
I think with this , many Iran citizens will be bold to enter into mining since one of the major challenges of mining has been taken care of .

I wonder is someone here knows what are the requirements for opening up a crypto mining operation in Iran were?

Do you mean many citizens will hesitant to mine? Since the government requirement for the license is hard it seems?

I don't think the citizens will have any problem getting license to mine , am referring to the other miners that may want to go there to benefit from the privilege . I believed they started the program to help citizens that are miners .

The license fee will determine the number of people that may be ready to join the mining league, if it is high only few people will be able to do that.

I think that if they can manage to get the licence irrespective of the price , they can recover what they spent on getting licence , since they won't be spending much on electricity which is the top most challenge miners face .

The government might be regulating the number of people to get license with respect to time, it is very possible that more than 14 companies applied for it and only 14 got.

I agree with you on this. The government must be using a plethora of requirements that may be favourable to their citizens or a targeted few. This will definitely encourage illegal mining activities.
