Hello there,

A study from April 11, reports that a ransomware organization shifted from Bitcoin to Monero to help secure the identity of the group.
The use of this cryptocurrency would make it more difficult for legal authorities to trace ransom transactions to the Sodinokibi team, the study by the cybertechnology site BleepingComputer suggests.

How do you guys think Monero is affecting online scams and hacking?
Thanks for Reading

This is why scams and ransom is mostly done with crypto currency so as to make their identity and they can hardly be traced. This kind of scam will hardly go away not when scammers are having a field day makiny money anonymously

Yes exactly! More and more illegal activity transactions are taking place through cryptocurrency and also as this article states - via Monero which is even harder to trace as compared to tracing bitcoin.

The way for this is everyone taking precaution when any business transaction especially those that involves crypto currency. A lot of scammers mostly want all their transactions carried out through crypto. This should always be a red flag when dealing with a total stranger.

I have got to agree... we should always keep an eye out for sketchy transactions taking place via cryptocurrency that is always a sign to something shady, unless you are talking about crypto exchanges and such
