In freelancing such as Upwork or Freelancer.com, there are jobs which we call at an hourly rate and fixed rate. I do believe both has advantages and disadvantages. However, I want to know which will work better. I am skeptical to accept some jobs by hourly rate because I am busy.
Which do you guys prefer? Hourly rate or fixed rate?

I think if you go for hourly rating,it might be some way not that clear, because the client may sustain, that you have not worked enough, within that hour. But if you go for fix rate, the only thing the client can bring up the content of the article.

I think it depends on what your doing. I would not advise an hourly rate for writing or transcribing or any task that is dependent on the person's speed. Go for a fixed rate then you can take your time.

I think fixed rate jobs are good but they have very bad type of sellers. so you have to be really understanding on how you can manage that. I personally find the fixed jobs painful. and they can be really hard in that context though. I guess I would have to check that.

I think that fixed rate are better, because the client might be not very content with the hourly rate. The client might expect much more work, which you can do in an hour,so I think fixed rate would be better.

Both hourly and fixed rate are good depending upon your conveniency and choices. As for me. im freelance, and i would like hourly rate as this wouild give me opportunity to decide my schedule. the amount you earn on this depends on the amount of time you can spend. with this method, you are in control.but with the fixed rate, no, irregardness of the time spent, you receive the same pay.

Yes, there are many sites where freelancers are charging hourly rate. the famous website PeoplePerHour is one of them where people are actually charging freelancing service on hourly basis. This also involves freelancers that belong to western countries, as there are many American freelancers on that platform.

You have a point there. There are some tasks that can even be finished in a certain period. But of course, the quality of work is also important. I did some work on Upwork before, but it's a fixed rate. I stopped freelancing there though.

There might be many employers who might not be willing to hire people on hourly basis because they might believe that a lump sum deal might be more beneficial for them. They think that they might be able to take the advantage of freelancers through such method. This is why I think that hourly rate might be much better for the freelancers.

It depends on your personal preference and engagement. If you are full time freelancer, I believe hourly rate is better but if you have something doing apart from freelancing, consider fixed rate.

I think that really depends on the types of job offered to you. But believe fix rate will be nice because you to give it all you got in order to finish it on time and take the money. Hourly rate always slow the job and you can't compare the money with fix rate to hourly rate.

Well, I have always advocated hourly rate as a freelancer. However, there are many 9 to 5 jobs that also pay you based on hourly rate. In that case, nothing is that different if you ask me. It is quite similar to being paid on daily basis or monthly basis.

When it comes to payment for freelance work, both fixed-rate and hourly-rate options have their advantages and disadvantages. It's important to weigh both and decide which option works best for you. Generally, fixed-rate projects are beneficial when there is a clear, defined scope of work that can be completed within an estimated amount of time. Hourly rate projects can be beneficial when the scope of the project is not well-defined or changes often. Ultimately, the choice is up to the freelancer and the client.

Freelancing is not like offline works in developed countries where they pay per hour. It's usually a fixed rate that can be negotiated between you and your client. Most times you complete the task before you are paid.

I prefer fixed rate for freelancing jobs, especially for writing articles. It allows me to have more control over my time and workload, and I find it easier to manage my client's expectations.
