What do I need to make my very own website and earn money from it like others do?
To make your own website and earn money from it, there are a few key elements you'll need. Here's a list to get you started:

1. Domain name: Choose a unique and memorable domain name that represents your website. Go for something catchy and relevant to your niche.

2. Web hosting: Find a reliable web hosting provider that suits your needs. Look for features like uptime guarantees, ample storage, and good customer support.

3. Content management system (CMS): Consider using a CMS like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal. These platforms simplify website creation and management, even for beginners.

4. Design and customization: Choose a visually appealing...
Well it depends what type of website you want to create. If it is a simple website where you want to have content then get yourself a domain - a proper one, not a sub-domain. Then get some web hosting - it is fine to get free hosting at first but once your site grows it may be wise to get better hosting. Then work on your website content. It's not easy to make money straight away from your site, put adsense on and keep working on content, design and advertising

As others have said, a lot depends on what sort of site that you want to make. There are many sites online these days that will give you the tools to create your own site or offer to do the job for you and if you aren't sure exactly what you want that may be the better option.

What I did when I created my first site was look around at the sites that would eventually be my competition and look at ways that I could effectively copy them but do it better. That's probably the easiest way of getting the content together and then it's just a case of designing your site so it's aesthetically pleasing, easy to navigate and responsive. Then there's the advertising side to look at as well and the more I go on the more complicated it's beginning to sound, but it really isn't that difficult and you'll soon be up and running in no time.

Making or having your own website is easy since there are free hosting now and free domain name as well. But for a business website, it is best to buy your own domain name and contract a hosting provider. At least you have the full liberty to put all the ads you want. And if you don't know how to design a webpage then you have to hire a designer.

I do have the same question, well I do have a domain, hosting, and content. Once it's published, would it take me years before I can monetize the site?
Of course not, you need to optimize it for serche engines, this process it's called SEO wich stands for search engine optimization, but you can't rely just on SEO in 2017, you need as many traffic sources as possible, social media may be easier, paid traffic if you can afford, it's all about your website niche, what your intention with it, you solve someone's problem or is just hobby like posting pictures from vacations(you can make money off these too but need diffrent approach)

Wow! I didn't think about those things. I heard about SEO, why can't I rely on SEO this year? And about the traffic, you have any idea how much you can earn in terms of numbers of visitors a month?

If you are looking to owning a business website then you have to consider going for your non hosted website. This way you are free to run whatever ads or programs on it and besides you get a name that could become a popular brand in future if you keep a good traffic and SEO rating

SEO is always changing, when comes a new Google update, your first page rankings are lost if you managed to the top with black hat seo tactics,

speaking about traffic, you need to know what traffic you have, is it organic, is it from social networks, age, location, is paid, is low quality traffic such as ptc (this is the hardest to monetize, people in this niche will not invest a dime, since they work hard asf to earn 10 cents.)

Without insights about the trafic I can't figure out to recommend you a monetization option, neither estimate earnings. :(

Talking about traffic another important factor to look at is the countries you are targeting or pulling traffic to your site. This will determine how much you can earn per visit and possible click on the ads link. Visits from the US and the other first tier countries would normally pay more and that from developing countries is a lot less.

About $10 for the first year on Namecheap.

If you want to blog, I highly recommend you check out the "oh she blogs" website. She's got lots of great advice for new folks, including ways to start your blog for free, (which you ought to do first, to see if you like blogging):

The other thing to do is, if you're going to pay for hosting, to avoid any web hosting company owned by the odious EIG, (Endurance International Group), company. That includes Bluehost and HostGator. The reason otherwise respected folks promote these turkeys is that the affiliate payments are huge!

You could try making your first website on Wordpress or BlogSpot ( even though that sounds more like a blog ). You could also try some free website makers such as Wix. If you plan to use your own domain then I would advise you to buy from godaddy or namecheap and try to look for some coupons so you can get it cheaper.

It really depends on what kind of website you want to make. There are many options available, so budget, scale, subject, and personal preference has a lot to do with the best route. If you want to learn and experiment first, I can show you a great way to do it for free. One thing I definitely recommend is Namecheap if you want to buy a domain name (best prices and great customer support...While the big 'Daddy' of domains was busy sponsoring NASCAR and passing the cost on to customers, these guys were concentrating on the domain business! lol).

Try this out to learn and experiment for free it is perfect for beginners: 000WEBHOST

If you like , you can even get free subdomains (can be used just like a domain) to have some fun with (I wouldn't use them for anything important, though). subdomain.net or freesubdomain.org (freesubdomain.org also has free hosting, much like 000webhost, but with cooler looking domains)
