When the lock downs begun I was working in sales. You know the deal - minimal wage plus a commission, but since there were so few customers I was not making enough money to cover my basic expenses.
My anxiety went trough the roof and at one point I thought, I would have to move back with my parents. Not that it's the worst thing on the planet, but if you are a guy in his 20s living mommy and daddy is not a dream situation.
At that time all I did is complained about my situation, which didn't exactly make me very popular with other people.
However a friend took pity on me and invited me to join a team play poker chat room he was in. I told him that I don't even know how to play poker, but he convinced me to give it a try. Team play is when couple of people sit on a table and share with each other what cards they have, and they play as a team against the rest of the players on the table.
I was doing pretty well, but the summer came and many of the restrictions got lifted and my regular job picked up. Standing on your feet 8 hours a day trying to sell a person something that they probably don't want and most likely don't need is a joyless existence. On top of that I started making more money from the poker than my ""real"" job. So last October I decided to quit and just play poker.
To be honest I've never been more happy in my life. I feel free and in control for the first time. I just wanted to vent a little and share my experience(maybe brag a little).
If you have any questions leave them in the comments bellow and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities.

I quit my job to play online poker

Quitting your job to play online poker full-time can be a risky decision, as it's not guaranteed to be a sustainable source of income. Here are a few things to consider before making such a decision:

  1. Income stability: Online poker can be a volatile source of income, and there's always the risk of losing money. It's important to have a backup plan or savings in case your poker income is not consistent.
  2. Skill level: Your ability to make money from online poker will depend on your skill level. If you're not already an experienced and winning player, it's important to be realistic about your chances of success.
  3. Time commitment: Playing online poker full-time...
If this thing is actually any form of gambling then I would suggest you call it a quit too and probably go back to your normal way of earning a living. Gambling is never a good source of income as you are just not sure of anything.
You could lose all your whole money in a twinkle on an eye. Please, let's be very careful while trying to earn money online.

What matters is what gives you joy and freedom. As long as you are making more money from playing online poker, there is no doubt that it is the best for you at the moment.

But what you have to understand is that gambling of any form is not a reliable source of income.

I would advise you to save some money from the online poker and use it to venture into other profitable businesses that would give you steady money.

If you resign from your job because it is very stressful, I think there are a lot of other jobs you can do again that may be less stressful and more lucrative.
The fact that the poster is making money from it right now does not guarantee that that win story will be permanent. I don't even advice any trader so see trading as their major source of income let alone gambling.
This is because, on way or another, it will surely leave such a person in tears and regrets.

I will not quit my daily paying job for any gambling or casino poker.
It is more responsible to be working and have a good source of income than to be into gambling.
Gambling is full of risk and uncertainty.
Many people who are into gambling live a frustrated life and depression......

I can't work on any gambling site anymore because I have not been luck with the ones I have tried. I would rather stick to other fixed paying site with little than going into what can make me regret. Well I am just hearing about poker and it's obvious it's a gambling game wherein you can win by lucky. However someone needs to set a target and discover who he is rather than going into something that his destiny doesn't accept.

Poker are all gambling sites and I can not make such a mistake to quit my daily paying job for poker.
It takes only a man who has addiction to abandon his normal job no matter how small the wage and move with gambling.
Gambling is a game of chance. You can not be so sure until the final whistle......

In my honest opinion, i don't think you made the right decision quitting your real job for poker. Poker is not something you always win, there are somedays you lose to. Can you bear the loss especially if it is a big one? With your real job, at the end of the month you get your salary and commission whether you make a sale or not. The best thing you would have done was to keep your real job then play oker during your free time.

I supported you in this comments. It is not a good or right decision to quit your daily paying job for gambling.
Gambling is not a sure game because some days might not be good for you. And especially if you suffer a big loss.
But in your job, your salary is guaranteed whether the company makes profits or loss...

I wonder how someone will quit is job and venture his hard earned money from his job and put it on gambling. Is gambling an investment? That it will make him to make such decision.
I am nit saying that I don't gamble but I only gamble with free money that I earn because I know that if I lose the money, I will not be in pain.

Some people who are addicted to gambling usually do so.
Some gamblers are so addictive that only thing they do is to gamble with what ever little resources that comes their way.
Such people always live misery as they are always in need of money for everything...

What a terrible life is that. How will they continue to waste there money on something that is not yielding them profit but to make them loss.
I have seen someone that his boss gave him money to buy something that the business needed. So he took the money to bet shop to bet, but he lost all the money and was arrested because of this.

Such an embarrassment and humiliation that man suffered as a result of been addicted to gambling.
It is really a wrong decision to quit your daily paying job and in it's join gambling.
Most people who gamble never lived a fulfilled life.....

Addiction in gambling is very common indeed. Such people who get addicted to gambling end up living really miserable lives. Not only do they spend all the money they have, but they also start borrowing money to gamble. That leads them to even spending money that they could use for basic things like food and paying school fees. Such people also have problems with other family members constantly.

I have seen so many of them and their experience has always been the same.
Addicted to gambling can also be likened to addicted to drugs.
There are similarities between both of them.
People who relinquish their good job that pays them salaries and go for gambling is really addiction. It was a bad decision....

Even though i don't known what warrant your decision quitting your job,but i think is not the right thing to do. A job has a guarantee income while a poker game is a game of luck and it involves a very high risk. The income from a poker game is not certain as even the player does not when he or she will win. It will have been better to keep ur job and still engage in a poker game than to quit ur job for a poke game. This will ensure that if the poker game failed to bring in good return as expected, the income from job will help to sustain one self
It was really a wrong and bad decision to quit your job and join the online gambling business.
In as much as I do not know what prompt your decision to quit your job but you might regret that decision you made.
Gambling are based on luck and probability. No one is sure of winning until the final whistle...

That is right. Addiction to gambling is really similar to drug addiction. The effects are just the same. You get into trouble with other people always, you spend your money badly and you have mental health issues all the time. Quitting a job to pursue anything that involves gambling is just the effects of addiction.

Bro, don't get angry. But are you insane? Who in this world quits his job to play poker? Maybe you have won 4 or 5 times and thinking that yeah, it pays well.. But, no. I don't think anyone can get successful by gambling.. Soon, you would maybe lose all the money. So, be careful.

It is very unreasonable to quit your daily paying job for a gambling poker.
Gambling are won based on luck and probability. No one can be sure of winning a game until the last whistle.
So many people who gamble looks miserable and broke because they are always in need of money....

One of the advantage of having a job is that there is income security which is very important our survival. Quiting a job that serve as one sources of income is actually not the best thing to do. Poker on the other hand should not be totally rely on as the income from it is not constant and can even take away all we have invested in past.
It was actually a wrong decision to quit your job which is paying you a guarantee salaries and indulge in gambling which is never sure for you.
People who are into gambling never have a good life because they are always borrowing and paying debts used for gambling.
So to me it is not a good idea to quit job for gambling....

I think that's a wise decision and I have also come to that conclusion. I can't gamble even if I don't have a good paying job at hand because what makes gambling is hat it is, is for the fact that it takes more than it gives you.
Gambling is just as dangerous and anyone telling themselves otherwise can see it as self deception.

That is a wrong decision to quit your daily paying job for gambling. Gambling is not healthy for any individual because when it becomes addictive, you affect the individuals mental health.
I have been involved in sports betting in the time past and I never benefitted from it and decided to quit....
