When the lock downs begun I was working in sales. You know the deal - minimal wage plus a commission, but since there were so few customers I was not making enough money to cover my basic expenses.
My anxiety went trough the roof and at one point I thought, I would have to move back with my parents. Not that it's the worst thing on the planet, but if you are a guy in his 20s living mommy and daddy is not a dream situation.
At that time all I did is complained about my situation, which didn't exactly make me very popular with other people.
However a friend took pity on me and invited me to join a team play poker chat room he was in. I told him that I don't even know how to play poker, but he convinced me to give it a try. Team play is when couple of people sit on a table and share with each other what cards they have, and they play as a team against the rest of the players on the table.
I was doing pretty well, but the summer came and many of the restrictions got lifted and my regular job picked up. Standing on your feet 8 hours a day trying to sell a person something that they probably don't want and most likely don't need is a joyless existence. On top of that I started making more money from the poker than my ""real"" job. So last October I decided to quit and just play poker.
To be honest I've never been more happy in my life. I feel free and in control for the first time. I just wanted to vent a little and share my experience(maybe brag a little).
If you have any questions leave them in the comments bellow and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities.

I quit my job to play online poker

Quitting your job to play online poker full-time can be a risky decision, as it's not guaranteed to be a sustainable source of income. Here are a few things to consider before making such a decision:

  1. Income stability: Online poker can be a volatile source of income, and there's always the risk of losing money. It's important to have a backup plan or savings in case your poker income is not consistent.
  2. Skill level: Your ability to make money from online poker will depend on your skill level. If you're not already an experienced and winning player, it's important to be realistic about your chances of success.
  3. Time commitment: Playing online poker full-time...
The regular jobs can give someone regular income one can use for planning rather than online poker and gambling which are not too sure. Though no one actually know the reason why he is quitting his job for gambling....
Yes we don't know the reason for the action maybe they are not paying him or her is salary again or another strong reason but still he have to know what decision or action he decided to take part so he don't regret it in future

For someone to say that he or she quite is job just because he wanted to play online poker I think there is no one close to him that can advise or explain to him what is poker first or in the other hands it may be that he is really benefitting in online poker but the truth be told you can compare you job salary to something that you don't know the days, month or even year you will benefit in it
While it's true that gambling can be entertaining for some, it's also important to keep in mind that it can quickly become an expensive addiction. You should gamble responsibly and within your financial means if you do so choose to participate. Setting time and monetary limits on your gambling activities is a good first step toward preventing gambling from becoming an addiction.

I will

I will not be too quick to query his decision. He may have learnt different ways by which he can be getting money through poker. He would not want to venture into it except he has done his assignment and know that it will benefit him.

That is why a gamblers need to know how important is it for a gambler to know is limit in gambling know when to stop and when to quit knowing this I think you can't be addicted to Gambling and you wouldn't be losing a lot
It is recommended that gamblers establish limits for themselves so that they can better manage their risks and reduce the likelihood of developing a gambling addiction. This can include setting limits on the amount of time and money they spend gambling, as well as setting limits on the types of games they play and the stakes they are willing to wager.

Quitting your job to play online poker can be a risky decision, as it can be difficult to make a living playing poker, particularly in the current online environment. Before making this decision, you should carefully consider the potential risks and rewards, and make sure you understand the stakes and the strategies involved in successful poker playing

I will

That is absolutely right. Life I risk he took the risk probably he not just take it blindly he may be he must tasted it and he sees the opportunity and he want to grab on it.

What i understand about the whole thing is that he didn't just woke up one day I decided to quit his because of poker game. In my own understanding it is not one-day decision he must implemented and saw that it works for and he chooses to take that bold step

That is a very good decision and I love the bold and the giant courage. Poker can create fortune if you are a poker Pro. It is a very interesting game most especially if you're playing as a team, there is possibilities of displaying the best hand at the poker table. It requires arithmetical skill and lots of strategy to create imbalance for your opponent in order to take advantage and win respectable money.

So I hope that is working well for you. Gambling it is not a job nor is it a career that one can quit their job for. But if you find out that is working well for you then it is you luck you can go ahead with it.

I don't know what to say about this. But it is visible to the blind and audible to the dead that it is clearly an unwise decision. Gambling generally is not a form of professional or ambition. It should be a thing of leisure not to make one's life dependent on it. I hope you find peace and I hope you retrace your steps.

wow. insane story! i did same thing as you did but the different is i played sports betting. i think you have more control in poker and destiny is in your hand. sadly my stories did not turn out the way i planned but i hope you can earn money by playing poker. i quit all risky jobs but i wish you the best my friend

Wow, your story is tragic! Quitting a safe job for a very risky venture is a very bold move. Though you put yourself at a very high risk of being financially unstable. I hope you have found your way out of the mess and learnt from it. Sports betting is not something to depend on for your income.

If you had ended your job to start up something else online that's a totally different case. Like myself i quit my job to focus on growing my personal brand in graphic designing and as well trying out freelancing. Online poker is not a job and it is totally not reliable. How many wins have you made so far since you made it your major means of income?

yes i think same. poker or gambling are not a real job we can't call them job. but if you have Opportunity to grow your own business it's ok to quit your job for a better Opportunity. because with working for employers you never can get rich. you could earn some money just for food or clothes or something

although poker usually has a peculiarity, that by not playing against the bank but against other players, you have some real possibility of winning money since it is not rigged for one of the parties and in general you can win if you are very skilled, which for For example, with blackjack it is very difficult to beat the bank due to statistical probabilities.

yes your destiny is in your hand in poker at least. maybe a skilled player can earn some money from it but i never understand casino games. you can't see any logic or rules around casino games and most of time you are looser. but poker is depend to players and if you understand this game correctly you could beat other players but still there is high risk in poker too because there is always a better play than you

Exactly as you say someone can be better than you and have a better play, that's why I say that it depends on your ability if you are not the best at the table you will probably lose, but there is also some luck factor, but there is more skill factor, and how everything, where there is money involved there is risk, so this must clearly be taken into account

That's point on! Poker is indeed a very wonderful and intriguing game to play. If you are a poker Pro, it will be hugely easier to display the best hand at the poker table and there are some other tricks that you could utilise to win the game very easily. One of such is the arithmetical calculation of the game.

Playing online poker can be a great way to make money, but it does require a high degree of skill, strategy, and arithmetic. It can be a great way to make a fortune if you are a poker pro, as it requires you to create imbalance for your opponents in order to take advantage and win. Additionally, playing in a team can help to increase your chances of success and make the game even more exciting. However, it is important to remember that playing online poker also comes with a certain degree of risk, so it is important to be aware of the potential risks and know how to manage them.
