Yes,I have read something similar on a site,where people were arguing,if getting followers this means real people or bots.Most of the people were saying that the traffic comes mostly from bots.So,this means there is no quality traffic.But I think this may vary from case to case.Not every traffic comes from bots.

I think ,that there are some members,who need followers not for a longer period of time.They need those followers only for advertising purposes,and they maintain their account for a week or so,till Facebook reacts.They can make any time another Facebook account.(I have read this on some other sites,where people are doing this kind of stuff)

Are these websites still viable in 2018 ? say for growing a youtube channel ? i know they are mostly bots but would using them help in getting the 4000 hours of watchtime ? or are there newer ways that are better ?

Because most of the times they are bots they just increase your subscriber count and will never watch your videos, this means watch time will remain the same.

If you think is hard to get the watch time, how do you think people will watch what you post after you passed 4000 hours? You still nee quality videos from day one.

Gaining social media followers using these sites won't do anything because people who follow you are just like you. They wanted followers, but for that, they needed credits, and for that credits to earn, they needed to follow someone, and that's why they are following you.

It doesn't matter, even if they are real humans; they are just like robots who do not intend to read or like your comments or content.

I wouldn't risk getting your social media accounts banned from using a practice like this. It's best that you stick to organic growth from real followers.
