China-based online sports betting service provider 500.com has acquired the leading Bitcoin mining pool BTC.com. The BTC.com pool currently handles 10 percent of the total Bitcoin mining activity.
Under the agreement, the entire mining activity of BTC.com will be transferred to 500.com. This process is expected to be completed on or before April 15, 2021.

Isn't this deal very risky ? , Considering the fact that the number of Bitcoin to be mined is quite low . Hope they will be able to recover what they have spent in purchasing it

There are surely certain risks, they probably made their calculations. From mining and transaction fees, miners generally earn well, I think they will likely profit.

Well , I hope it favours them just as you have pointed out ,because statistics has shown that mining is currently very difficult nowadays .
 
I will love to know if the buyers are making the profit the anticipated buying this mining pool. If they are then it was a good investment they made.
