What is Bitcoin?

I remember the first time I researched BTC mining on a PC was a year back and already it was a saturated and competitive market to enter (I missed the mining bus as they call it). One thing for sure, was that I didn't have the tech savvy to build something mining-worthy, and not just an elaborate room heater. Electricity isn't exactly cheap where I live either, due to excessive taxation.

Cloud mining certainly seems to have some perks, you meddle with less hardware, you get less senseless heat from the computer and there's a lower electricity usage.

But it's not all flowers and sunshine, most cryptocurrency mining sites are complete ponzi schemes (they pay the earlier investors with money from the newer ones).

Legit sites also have a thing called maintenance and electricity fees ("MEF"), which adds up as expense on your otherwise flawless plan of gaining profit in the span of 6 months. Another thing is that mining difficulty increases as more cryptocurrency is mined and there's a huge variation in the balance of cryptocurrency making frequent re-calculations of your "plan" necessary to avoid going into negative profit.

Has anyone successfully seen any profit from Cloud mining? Even small sum stories, I'd like to hear the experience.

I believe mining bitcoin need a high CPU to performed more higher Harsh/s which the lower the harsh/s you get the lower bitcoin value will be entering to the wallet. Is it great just collecting than mining bitcoin?

Freebitco.in (which has been around a few years) has lately allowed you to do browser mining (accesses your device's CPU power; you can set how much of the computing power you want to use) and you earn satoshi in exchange. I have a fairly low end laptop and I generate about 15 hashes, which works out to be about 25-30 sats an hour. Not big money or anything but it's the only method I've found of mining bitcoin for those of us that don't have a high end computer.

Regarding the near term future price of Bitcoin, I think it's extremely hard to figure out because we don't know the impact of the beginning of CME and CBOE futures trading; I personally think large firms are going to use those futures to short BTC, and we could see a pullback into the $8K range. I could be completely wrong on that though, we're talking a .00000001% probability edge I'm giving to this prediction. I think we're going to have a much more stabilized price by early January, which I think is really going to be a big positive for the currency going forward.

It's way too late to profit from Bitcoin mining. You're better off just buying and HODLing your coins.
Now, if this was 2013, that'd be another story :Banghead:

I disagree. Go to WhatToMine and enter the specs for an Antminer S9 and tell me that's not a fantastic ROI (even from a BTC only standpoint).

I think he was talking about mining with a CPU or GPU - that's impossible nowadays. with a Antminer S9 it is clear that you can mine any cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin. it's just that, of course, profits won't be as high as they would've been 1 yr ago for instance

I have also tried the mining options with my pc but the satashi claimed per hour was not encourage and i was scared of the damage it could cause to my system..I also hope we have steady rise and stable price of bitcoin by january

I think I can't have the hardware resources for the mining. But the thing about the mining is that it can be hard to make use of the hardware and have to pay the electricity bills too. so that's the thing we have to learn and realize from there as well too.

the days when anyone could afford to mine and it was the best solution to get some free crypto are already gone since a long time. now it can even be considered an investment, because that's what it basically is

@******* you have given so many options, but these will still confuse us; we can mine bitcoin and perhaps some other cryptocurrencies also; yet we need just one PC or something for this, so which option could be better?

Cloud mining is what I'd consider the best option (I have a couple of options in my signature that I use), because you don't need to buy a miner/figure out how to run it/deal with electricity, and you can buy fractional shares, so you can get in at a much lower $ entry point. Hashflare in particular is very inexpensive to get into, $2.20 gets you started.

even if it's very inexpensive, I've seen some opinions here on the forum that it's difficult to earn something with those inexpensive plans and some of them even lost some money that way as it turned out to earn too little. is that true or does it depend?

Just depends on the historical timeframe you are referencing. It ultimately depends on whether you believe the difficulty adjustments will grow faster than the $ price of the currency you are mining. If you leave Hashflare in reinvest mode, over time it will generate good returns in my opinion, but it's hard to predict the future.

First of all, you need to know everything about this currency before you start mining it. After that you should get connected to some people that you trust and hat are already doing that, so they can help you to start and third thing is that you have to have very strong and very fast computer so it can handle that.

It makes more sense (financially) to buy coins and HOLD them; rather than mine them.

This is sometimes the case. During periods where the price is appreciating at a faster rate than the mining difficulty, then it's more profitable to mine. This sometimes occurs and sometimes doesn't.

I think bitcoing mining is a good idea and it can eaarn good. but not worth it if you can't do the hardware purchase. as of now there are not many people jumping into the mining. so it's worth thinking there as well.

Bitcoin is very difficult to mine cos you will need electicity and a good funtioning computer for solving very tough algorithims, you can easily it through faucet but very very slow method better alternatibe is to work in sites that pay in bitcoin

if you said that we will get more bitcoin easily we have to earn it from many website , do you know what option website can we try? maybe i will try it if i know

I think as of now bitcoin and ether mining is not going to be profitable anymore. people are doing it and taking a lot of time to even make a block. so you can get the idea that the miningis going to be slow from here onwards.
