What is Bitcoin?

I remember the first time I researched BTC mining on a PC was a year back and already it was a saturated and competitive market to enter (I missed the mining bus as they call it). One thing for sure, was that I didn't have the tech savvy to build something mining-worthy, and not just an elaborate room heater. Electricity isn't exactly cheap where I live either, due to excessive taxation.

Cloud mining certainly seems to have some perks, you meddle with less hardware, you get less senseless heat from the computer and there's a lower electricity usage.

But it's not all flowers and sunshine, most cryptocurrency mining sites are complete ponzi schemes (they pay the earlier investors with money from the newer ones).

Legit sites also have a thing called maintenance and electricity fees ("MEF"), which adds up as expense on your otherwise flawless plan of gaining profit in the span of 6 months. Another thing is that mining difficulty increases as more cryptocurrency is mined and there's a huge variation in the balance of cryptocurrency making frequent re-calculations of your "plan" necessary to avoid going into negative profit.

Has anyone successfully seen any profit from Cloud mining? Even small sum stories, I'd like to hear the experience.

I'm sorry for Cloud-mining I believe you mean real mining, the only really profitable . It's true?
Not these that I call "scams-mining ", where they are in truth HYIPs trash sites for me!
Or maybe, that you know, there are instead other systems for mining?
Thank you.
Well, for me mining isn't really worth my time unless I'm not doing it right, any thing coming from hyips sites need to be careful with. Not just about mining alone.

Well, If the costs of making profit on Cloud-mining are so high in terms of hardware and energy, the samething worth for me too.
Thank you.

Cryptocurrency mining is painstaking, costly and only sporadically rewarding. Nonetheless, mining has a magnetic appeal for many investors interested in cryptocurrency because of the fact that miners are rewarded for their work with crypto tokens.

Is the fact that I am going to explore my being able to get extremely cheap electricity and cheap day plans going to aid my laptop mining plans?

Mining is a quite intensive process, you'd do better with desktop PC and decent graphic card, most laptop simply won't cut it, even if you can mine with laptop, it doesn't guarantee that you will earn a profit from it.

What I am getting from this post is that if you are not ready to go big in cryptocurrency mining then go home cos it is really capital internship.

No one forces you to buy/build your own mining rig. You can always try legit cloud mining services first, like Genesis mining. Currently, their cheapest service only costs $209, if you're interested.

Cloud mining is even the best place to start for the people interested in mining, because it more like investing and expecting return , this will guide you on the profitability of mining before buying your personal mining rig.

@Emoney & @De-reactor here we are talking about real mining with hardware (rental hardware from nicehash included which IS considered real mining too) but not about online cloud mining which are scams. Cloud mining topics are in another section on this forum. Stop suggesting about cloud mining websites here is real hardware mining section/topics.
@BMF should have 0 tolerance on such posts about cloud mining in wrong section.

If you want to start mining in the first place, you have to own a mining rig. Although in the beginning of the Bitcoin history, miners used ordinary domestic computers, and later graphic cards, today you will not acquire any Bitcoin with these machines (or more precisely you may gain something, but it will be a really small amount in a very long period of time).

Since the price of bitcoin has continue to increase drastically so it is making it difficult to mine it and in those days Halving effect is felt as such considering the percentage of bitcoin left un-mine yet.

No longer this is applicable, already BTC mining needs some better hardwares for SHA256 type hash, next you will need lots of electricity to mine. This may cost low if you get device and get solar energy for free.

Dear friend. From my knowledge found here, I have an idea that we want very expensive hardware to mine and earn via bitcoin (or other crypto).
This is something that I currently cannot afford to do!
But you see, I see you, just for you and no other, found opportunities to earn more.
I am Italian, this must remain between us, I do not like that the "secret" is discovered by others. For this reason I am telling you precisely, in my Italian language.

I don't think this is a good one , if there is a secret to earning or mining bitcoin easily let all of us be aware of it so we can learn too.

No, my friend, it's no secret to extract Bitcoin, really.
But if you can translate from Italian language, you will understand what I said to her.
Thank you.
