Hello Bmfers,
So as you begin to scale up your business you realise that alot of responsibilities and trust comes your way such as handling peoples money and content.Worse enough if these vital responsibilities are performed online it means there is alot of risky of loosing valuable content or resources by hackers.

I recently encrypted a Samsung device using the built in security features.I don't know how much security it has given me.Now am more interested on online work and my focus is on a website and on social platforms like Facebook. On a website and on Facebook you can inbed payment gateways and an online store. Also we can place valuable content that we may be intrusted with. How can we setbup high end securiy on facebook and on a website in orders for our content to be protected?

Well, I don't think there is a lot of people here knows how to set up security feature and I am from this people but I can recommend you to go on forums online about online security and I think the you will find a lot of people who can help you there.

Sometimes, I your host should be able to provide you with a robust security system, though you will have to pay heavily for it, Another thing is the system / language with which you code the website

I heard a situation where a Facebook account is hacked,or your emails too can be hacked but suppose orders are placed there it means you are loosing valuable content and orders for people.

Which forums might those be? Am looking at the basic set ups you can start up with that can protect your resources or money and content for people that they may place in your custody for care. Intellectual property.

You should use SSL or TSL encryption to make your site's user data encrypted. Also choose your server wisely. Some servers are very prone to hacking attacks. Be aware of such sites and always chose the server wisely. Also don't upload any content which having viruses.

Yes cracked themes and softwares have mostly viruses that can harm you potential so avoid these options to stay safe from such brutal things

Making your own website and secure it with DDOS protection, WHOIS protection, and more is the best. You can't really setup your own security measure if you're using Facebook. There's no such thing as a free product, if a product is free, then that means you're the product, that means FB harvest your data and sell it to whoever interested.

I have gone an extra mile in this area and it was quite an extensive study. What you need is a cyber security expert or consultant. For most of these social communication platforms or accounts if you want then to be safe you have to set notification configuration on already more than one device in order to monitor activity on your accounts. You can also frequently be monitoring devices that are accessing your account or where your account is logged on.you can can also set up a very long and strong password, one which consists upper cases, lower cases, numbers and characters.

Cybetsecurity is one area you cannot afford not to learn if you are an online entrepreneurs.

Using null templates is one of the best reasons why your website is exposed to the little or unknown virus that makes your websites lag first and then start to make it go offline for visitors and then coming up with show of final trick , never. Use null templates use a free one and always make sure that if you are not using a website that had attacks in past year you can check that with kingdom tools website status online for an year

Thank you for this, we ought to use as much secure platform as we can to prevent hackers hacking websites and business platforms.

I have noticed that facebook, gmail, twitter, Instagram and many ppsyforms like coinbase, luno, airtm among others will even alert the locations you are accessing the platform from and the device you are using. These features including 2factor suthrntifaction and OTP is good for enhanced security.

One thing you have to prepare for as an online entrepreneurs is to ensure that your data and clients data is safeguarded. So ask around in what should be done to protect company data and clients data.

In my recent case,a number wanted to hack my WhatsApp.Anybody ever had such an experience and what did you do about it?

The first thing you should do is make sure that your passwords are strong for each of your accounts and that you do not use the same password for more than one account. Your accounts need to be protected by enabling two-factor authentication. By enabling two-factor authentication, you are adding a second layer of security to your accounts.

Select a hosting environment that keeps your website separate from others, reducing the possibility of security breaches brought on by other websites. Set strict password requirements for user accounts. Users should be urged to create strong passwords and to update them frequently.

First, you should make sure that your website and server are running the latest version of their software and are free of any known vulnerabilities. You should also use a strong password policy and two-factor authentication.

You can always make your content password protected , this service and feature is offered by many good websites for their users , and most of the times to avail and make use of the feature you would have to make sure that you are indeed able to create an account on the website as a must have to use their services actually indeed to be honest .

It's totally understandable to want to beef up security, especially when you're dealing with sensitive stuff like people's money and valuable content online.

When it comes to websites and social platforms like Facebook, there are a few things you can do to ramp up security. For starters, make sure you're using strong, unique passwords for all your accounts, and enable two-factor authentication whenever possible. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, like a text message code, in addition to your password.

On your website, consider using HTTPS instead of HTTP for added encryption and protection of data transferred between your site and visitors. You can also install security plugins or software to help detect and prevent attacks, like malware or hacking attempts. Regularly updating your website's software and plugins is crucial too, as developers often release patches to fix security vulnerabilities.

As for Facebook, make sure your privacy settings are set to the highest level possible, and be cautious about what personal information you share publicly. Avoid clicking on suspicious links or messages, and report any suspicious activity to Facebook immediately.

Ultimately, staying vigilant and proactive about security is key. It might take a bit of effort to set everything up, but it's definitely worth it for the peace of mind knowing your online content and resources are well-protected.

This is very resourceful and it touches on the most basic aspects of security enhancement especially for social platforms which act as our basic point of contact with potential clients. People are always on the lookout to try and steal information from us. In Afroic we keep on being vulnerable in our information on Facebook regardless of the high profile we are.

Could you explain further how we can protect our Facebook accounts especially in Africa?

Absolutely, protecting your Facebook account, especially in Africa where online security threats are prevalent, is crucial. Here's a breakdown of steps you can take to enhance security:

1. Strong Passwords: Create strong, unique passwords for your Facebook account. Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or pet names. Instead, combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols to make it harder for hackers to crack.

2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enable two-factor authentication on your Facebook account. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as a text message code or authentication app, in addition to your password.

3. Privacy Settings: Review and adjust your privacy settings to ensure they're set to the highest level possible. Limit who can see your posts, personal information, and friend list. Be cautious about sharing sensitive information publicly.

4. Avoid Suspicious Links: Be wary of clicking on suspicious links or messages, especially those sent by unknown individuals. These could be phishing attempts aimed at stealing your login credentials or installing malware on your device.

5. Report Suspicious Activity: If you notice any suspicious activity on your Facebook account, such as unrecognized logins or unusual posts, report it to Facebook immediately. They have mechanisms in place to help you secure your account and investigate potential security breaches.

6. Regularly Update Software: Keep your devices and apps, including the Facebook app, up to date with the latest security patches and updates. Developers frequently release patches to address known vulnerabilities and protect against security threats.

7. Educate Yourself: Stay informed about common online security threats and best practices for staying safe online. Educate yourself and your team members about the importance of cybersecurity and how to recognize potential threats.

By implementing these measures and staying vigilant, you can significantly reduce the risk of your Facebook account being compromised and safeguard your personal information and online presence.
