Creating a software is not something easy, except you already have a perfect idea and audience or you are working for someone or a company, you are sure going to have alot of questions running in your head

Some major questions that arises are:
  1. How will you come up with creating something that people might end up using (software with demand)?
  2. After creating such a software, how can i place a proper price tag on it, something that is not too expensive or too cheap.
  3. How to properly market your software.

Personally i have a problem dealing with these questions will love to also know what others think

  1. create CRM
  2. Saas mode is the best option
  3. Do SEO for your software

I don't make software but I make webscripts and websites. I also have problem with setting price. I think we should check similar Products and their prices and maybe ask question on webmaster forums.

It depends on the abilities, features and what that software can actually do, if it's something that's necessary in a computer, the price should from quite high to affordable

Look for similar software, check the price, check the features and on how many platforms it supports, compare it with your own software and adjust tour pricing accordingly.

To create a better software you need check out what most softwares can do in line with the niche of software you wish to create then had more features to yours, compares and contrast the price of similar softwares and fix your price within the range.

I think you first need to check on other softwares and add features absent in those softwares to your new software. Then try as much as possible to make your software a little cheaper. This will attract buyers, and when your software keep getting more buyers, you can then increase the price to that of your competitors.

If the. new feature present in your software but absent in that of your competitors is very important to users, then you can make your price a little higher than that of your competitors. But if the feature is not that important, then you can make your price to be equal to that of your competitors.

I agree with you. If anything unique is added to your own software to make it stand out, then surely you should price it higher than those of others making similar softwares.

If I ever get to develop a software, I would use the subscription model to price it. That would be cheaper but would fetch recurring income and also keep me on my toes to keep adding value to the software.

Overall, you must be sure to cover costs of development if you are using a one time purchase model.
