I have been into promoting a YouTube channel for almost an year now. I have tried advertising through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr(not much headway), and Instagram. However, some people say that certain videos can be promoted on Pinterest as well.
How to go about it, as I do not see people watching much on Pinterest, nor any active commenting stream there, that can tell if someone is interested.
Any guidance in this respect by anyone here?

pinterest in one of the best organic traffic bringer to be honest but I don't know if your kind of videos or your niche is famous on pitnerest so you can't really know if it's gonna be effective

Does one has to post images/ links in a particular way on Pinterest, or does one gets to understand things better through own trial and error?

I will suggest you Facebook and twitter both and if you have large amount of followers on both these websites naturally you will get more views for your YouTube videos.
You should post detailed information in the post about the video and share link of it in the post on Facebook or twitter. Another way is to buy traffic from Marketplace section but there you need to pay users for like, comment, subscribe and view.

Thanks for your suggestion. I do use Facebook and Twitter already. The problem with both is that while people do watch the channel name and get an idea as to what kind of a content is on that channel. However, very few people actually finally click and watch the video. So I was also exploring other options. I can try using marketplace once I have more points in my kitty.

In that case I will suggest you to choose your words wisely and choose words which can attract more visitors to your videos. Choose a nice thumbnail for the video and try to not making videos very long because I don't see most like watching long videos.

Yes, the Thumbnails do help. So that means keywords are indeed very very important.

I think Beauty and Home decoration related quality videos can be made popular on pinterest. A lot of female users love those stuffs. Flower gifts, beautiful stuffed unique home made products etc. are well discussed too there. May be you can find your niche too.

I never saw anyone utilizing Pinterest for promoting YouTube videos and would suggest Facebook and Instagram and these are indeed the best with the maximum traffic. You can easily find groups on Facebook which are same as the niche of your YouTube videos and it would be helpful to promote videos there.

Yes, I am active on some FB groups. Yet, a few folks told me that Pinterest could also help. So far, that does not seem as promising. May be if someone gets some paid plan, or a paid consultant or social media expert; that could help them on Pinterest!
Still need to figure that out.

Yes, I have seen such images there. Yet I am still exploring how promoting images there would eventually bring more audience to the videos. A good tip from your side!! I appreciate that.

Along with image how video link can be shown there which grows interest and not anything dusturbing. Image and youtube video must have an interesting link to check in details is a solution.

I suggest if there is chat or message possible then grow the community ask some more close friends to add this really helps. be familiar then suggest an exciting offer then post video with image and whole stuff will be related to cosmetics or handcrafts or a single niche. Do the same to few other user node with her friends too. its a slow but might wirk well in the beginning.

Nice tip. In fact, good content does matters. We have posted a new video on YT, which is just a little less than 4 minutes. We have shared it on Instagram, and good some nice feedback there.

I've heard many people saying this, but I still don't understand how that works! I guess this is one avenue I'm really going to have to do some research on and try to exploit. I already have a Pinterest account, so that's half the job done.

I currently use Pinterest solely to look for inspiration. This is usually when I'm looking for beauty/hair/makeup/fashion tips. I also go on there to search for books to read.

I never thought of Pinterest as a means of looking for books to read. I do sometimes find worksheets on English and other subjects for my kids to work upon, but may be the books could be the next thing I could look for there.

I was also surprised to find them there. It may well depend on the genre. But people actually create boards specifically for that as with everything else. With Pinterest, I guess almost anything is possible. I hope you find what you're looking for :)

Yes, I have observed the same. I see most of the DIYs and home decorations or kids learning things more popular than anything else. I don't know anything else will gain the popularity or not. The struggle seems tough.

Yes, I see Pinterest is more or less famous in these areas... They have really good ideas and good presentations as well. And so, I say that the creative sections get a good traffic on Pinterest and thus promoting the youtube videos can account to good benefits over that platform.
