Hello, before getting into the main topic, a channel that's not using original content is basically a channel that was uploading some content it didn't own, such as music lyrics, movies or pictures, a lot of people that have Youtube channels that meet the monetizing requirements but they don't get approved since their channels are filled with copyrighted content .

NOTE : This topic is based on my polish friend's experience that was uploading copyrighted content (gameplays with copyrighted music) for 9 YEARS! and he got his channel approved using the trick that i'll talk about down below ;)

After he got his application denied in May 2018, he stopped uploading the content he was using to upload and immediatly changed the niche, he succeded in it and after like 6 months, he appealed once again and he got it approved !

another NOTE : he didn't delete the copied content but just made the new content take over the channel and the old content got in the bottom of the channel .
another NOTE : spam your new content as much as possible you can and use thumbnails to make your channel looks more professional .

this is actually a very nice method that your friend used, because he took benefit of the previous copied videos to reach the minimum monetizing requirements and then monetized his new original content, such a nice and smart move, thanks for sharing !

I also have the same problem. Before it was monetized until YT become strict. No more money coming in, I tried to appeal several times but denied. I will try this trick. I don't want to delete my old videos it still gaining a lot of views even if I stopped uploading 1 1/2 yrs ago.

Thanks for the idea.

Wow, kudos to him! How on earth was he able to get away with it for nine years??! The interesting thing is if someone else tried to employ the same method, they may not be as lucky - sod'd law!

he never had the idea of monetizing the videos because he was making that content for fun purpose, he enjoyed it, and he decided to monetize it recently

Interesting trick, but youtube can still again disapprove him?
Hopefully, he is able to make some money out of it!

yeah he got the monetization disabled after few weeks but he got it again after applying for it, it's been more than a year and it's working so smooth with no issues at all

Older accounts tend to slip away from You Tube's ever watching eye. I think it will do him more good if he slightly modify his video content so that You Tube automated system won't caught him red handed.

youtube and google don't check all your videos to be approved if they found that your latest content is copyrighted they tell you to change it but not ot delete it

editing the video without reuploading it isn't possible (unless you want to remove the copyrighted audio files) which kinda ruins the whole video, so the only is by removing it

I mean, there are older channel with copy-paste content that still alive to this day, checking each and every video on You Tube would be a daunting task for them.

Wow! This trick sounds interesting but I think you may have banned if you that nowadays. Original content owners are always checking from time to time and if you are caught, they can report you and YouTube will ban your account.

Yeah, the method is cool and I would also like to add that for one to be successful in this way he or she must act very fast and also be smart, or else he would not achieve success with this.

It's truly appalling! And you're right, at least we can be secure in the knowledge that if you pull that sort of stunt you risk being banned and blacklisted and rightly so. I just don't understand why people steal content and pass it off as their own. Surely it's easier to just write your own?

You are right, it's just very easier to write your own content. I know most at times you need to study some other contents relating to what you blog about and take some ideas that maybe you didn't know about. But just stealing other contents directly isn't a better option at all.

youtube never allows stealing content to upload on your youtube channel. it always shows that there is copyright issue and its shows after uploaded a stolen content. you have a chance to resolve it

Maybe the guy was successful with the strategy the early days when YouTube wasn't too populated and strict like now. But as at now, it might be difficult to try that again and not get banned.

Exactly! If you want to go down that route, all you need to do is search for content, re-write it in your own words, re-arrange it if you have to, run it through Grammarly and make sure to cite your sources and that's about it. I personally prefer to write my own from scratch. It's easier and quicker.

I think you can delete the copies content and download the new content that can take over the channel, and also rearrange if you want to, that is how you can monetize it.

Yeah are right, considering the steps you will be passing through just to reorganize someone's content, it's not easy. But writing from your own understanding, and knowledge originally is very fast.
