Well, there are hundreds of thousands of dropshipping business and some owners earn from 5 to 7 figures doing dropshipping fulltime and I cannot see why you should not at least try, maybe you will have success too.

How dropshipping works explained:
1 - the customer purchases an item from your own online store at retail price
2 - You forward the order to your supplier - you pay wholesale
3 - Now your supplier will ship to your customer under your business name

Dropshipping business plan:

Step 1. - find a profitable niche: you should take couple good hours if not days to figure out what are you gonna sell, will you go for hot items, seasonal items, trending items, will you stay under the 2kg per item limit to avoid paying extra for shipping? On average dropshippers will go for products that are at least $20 and up to $250, not more than this because will become harder to sell. Also here you must check the demand for that specific item on the market and do a lot of research on your competitors, there's high chance someone is selling already what you trying to sell. You can learn a lot from them and improve your store.

Step 2. - find dropship suppliers: critical choice for your new business, having a supplier with enough stock and deliver products to your fresh customers in time is super important. So my advice is to choose suppliers with good experience, must provide fast shipping, must have quality products so your customers will be happy and buy more from you as well recommend your products to their friends, and charging small order fees not more than $4.

Step 3. - get sales Tax ID: getting into products selling requires paying taxes to the state you belong to, this is about 10% of the sale price, you should get this at your local county clerk's office or google it online.

Step 4. - chose the selling platform: here you must choose between biggest marketplaces in the world, eBay, Amazon, and Etsy. For access, there are different fees and can go up to 15% per sale from what I read. There are more selling platforms, check local ones as well, it matters a lot what you gonna sell.

Step 5. - create your online store: for long-term, it is best to create your own online store using Shopify or similar tools. By doing this you cut fees, you have bigger profits and you have full control, and let's not forget you don't rely on anyone else's platform. The downside of this is that it requires bigger investment upfront, a higher risk of losing more money if you don't have success with your dropshipping business. And very important you will have to deal with Search engine optimization so that you rank on Google SERPs(this takes time).

Step 6. - start promoting your store: this is where many drop shippers fail, they have more expenses in getting clients than making a profit, there are many choices to drive clients, you will need to start buying either Facebook ads or Google ads for fast results, contact YouTube Influencers for reviews, for slow results you have to contact big blogs and big forums and mainly do content marketing, basically post articles with a link back to your store so it drive traffic, increase your authority and hopefully new sales. I don't recommend social media marketing and email marketing, you will need to spend too much time posting updates and requires huge following to get decent sales, this strategy used to works couple years ago before Facebook fan page update, now Facebook urges you to buy posts promotion to reach your own followers. You get the point.

Sure it should be reasonable to an extent, at least $200 is not a bad start, if you start with cheaper and trending products but do avoid to dropship products like batteries, security cameras, cellphones to avoid problem of refund.
refunds are a serious issue in dropshipping, because you have to expose your real adress where you are going to receive the product

If you deal on products with less challenges and work with reputable suppliers which is very important in drop shipping you won't have cases of refund.

Refund is inevitable. Even if you have reputable supplier, what if during the shipping process the product is damaged? You can't control every aspect of it.

As inevitable as refunds may be with good suppliers they can be limited, damages are not things that occur repeatedly in drop shipping business.

There will be refunds no matter how you try, because it can occur in shipping or the product can never arrive in some occasions

Do you have any experience in dropshipping? Customers sometimes complaint about the most petties thing possible. There's a chance your customer will ask for refund even if their goods arrived without any damage too.

This is one of the problems faced with dropshipping. Sometimes the products come damaged, or not even at all. And in some cases you get a product you didn't really buy. And refunds become a very hectic task.
yes . im agree with that point ! a lot of people suffer from that problem

opening a dispute in aliexpress is a real pain, it can take up to months especially that some sellers don't speak proper english, so explaining the problem for them is a very hard thing

I work closely with a friend into this drop shipping my friend!! He has little complaints not as the way you paint it to be , it depends on the products you are dealing on, the supplier and your pattern of communication.

Pick a lot of the products you want to sale by getting them at company prices store them in your warehouse or store and wait for the right time

When you have the business setup done then you can have your process started and this can make continued sales and great profits with your startup to be honest actually in my opinion .

Dropshipping is probably a very good business venture that many people at developing interest on currently because of how lucrative is this. If you want to venture into dropshipping finding a very lucrative niche will help you a lot and you also need some capital one because it is absolutely not for you to start. it is a very good business venture generally.

Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful tips admin. I know of somebody who taught that it was all about investing a lot of money and he was not making any sales. He later turned to be selling basic phone accessories that was not attainable around here and he started making a lot of traffic.

I actually see dropshipping business as a very lucrative venture but what I know about dropshipping is that the business is seasonal and anyone could go into the business.
For example, during the Christmas season, there will be a high demand for clothes, shoes and other related items. You can order for these items on a wholesale price and resale them even cheaper than what's sold in the market. But after the celebration, then most people will go back to their various business waiting for the next favourable season to go into dropshipping.

Dropshipping was the first online business I started with Shopify. I was making money here and there, but I hated the business model.
The thing I don't like about dropshipping is the routine work that I have to do on a daily basis to find a winning product.

But, it is a good business model for those who like this type of work

Huh, you hated what was giving you money?.
Dropshipping is actually one of the businesses i have considered in the past but I've not really ventured into it properly but I've heard that it is very lucrative.

You need to understand that no matter the kind of business you do, you must do routine works and find out something that works in order to make money.

That is also how it is in affiliate marketing because you need to make research to find products that are selling.

To be honest, I don't think there is still much money to make on drop shipping. The cost of shipping and the rate of exchange has really gone up. When I did my calculations some times ago on affliate marketing, I later found out that it is better to be buying at local market and be reselling.

Adding a profit margin to your product is how dropshipping is profitable. The merchant will offer you their final price, to which you can then add whatever you want as a profit.Being mindful of the fierce competition in eCommerce, your profit margin must be reasonable.

Dropshipping is an interesting and profitable business for those who have enough authority in their social networks. I tried to sell in this business model and I only lost money with paid traffic, I made a good offer in my opinion and no customer bought. For me, the person to be able to sell well in dropshipping has to heat up the social networks a lot if not only lose money.

With the dropshipping business concept, you can sell goods online without maintaining an inventory or handling shipment. You must pick a lucrative niche, locate dependable suppliers, create an online store, add products, optimize product listings, market your products, fulfill orders, and offer customer support in order to make money. You may create a lucrative dropshipping business and earn money online by following these instructions.

You will need to buy large inventory of any item you choose for example clothing and when it arrives you have to stock the order in your warehouse the sellout of your product will keep increasing your revenue invest half in taking further inventory and save half in the bank as well indeed .
