Are there particular optimization that need to be done so my website start receive mobile traffic from search engines?

Yeah, it is important to optimize your site for mobile, Tablets. Have you ever checked the site in mobile or theme is compatible with mobile devices?

It's good to start now because the market is grown up for mobile browsing. Try to change the theme into mobile optimized theme.

There are a few things you can do. The first is to make sure you website the mobile option, it displays the website in a way that it fits completely in a phone's screen, so you wont have to keep zooming, and moving to read texts. The second thing, that is important for any website, is to stay on top of google's results, since many people don't go past page 3 or 4 when looking for something. The way to do that, is to find a artificial traffic generator, but you gotta pay for it, I won't say any names because I don't want to do any propaganda here, but it is not hard to find these services. After you reach the top google results, and have a good website, mobile traffic as normal traffic will come naturally.

I have to say that I think I have stressed myself out enough when it comes to SEO optimization and all of that when it comes to my sites. I get it, and I know that it is important, but focusing on it always really takes a lot of the joy that I used to get in updating and working with the content. I just assume that all technique apply, and if you make it simple enough I am sure the smartphones will be okay.

First, your website must have mobile friendly design, the theme you are using for your website must be compatible with hand held devices. Second you must not use lot of visual media (pictures and videos), couple of pictures and one video is ok, but too much pictures and videos will load your page slower in mobile device which is bad for mobile traffic.

Well, here's a few tips that I can give you about optimising your site for mobile users:
  • Try creating your own mobile version for your website. It will be seen as: m.yoursitename.com. Usually, if someone accesses your site from a smartphone, they will be redirected to the mobile site. You can try DudaMobile which can optimise your site into a mobile version for you. The downside is, you would have two sites, which means more expenses, more editing and Google can actually punish you if you don't follow their terms and guidelines regarding mobile sites.
  • Use a theme suitable for mobile users. You can use WPtouch which is a WordPress plugin. The downside is that your original theme won't be shown in the mobile version. And mobile themes are simpler in design.
  • You can build a responsive design. The good thing about this is it's compatible with any device. The downside? It's expensive, may not work with older sites and make loading slower.
  • Have an app for your site. This one's the least applicable because it's just too expensive especially if you're going to create one app for Android and Apple.
I hope this helps!

There is no fixed formula for the mobile traffic. Many claim to do so but that is not true. Most of the people either use AMP project for converting exact content to mobile view. You can use bootstrap or the foundation framework that can work out for the mobile view in such case. I personally prefer to use those for the mobile view and it does help with traffic.

Today the best way to get mobile traffic from search engines is that the site should be well optimized for mobile traffic and normally it would be better if you would go for accelerated mobile pages they are best and easy to gain organic traffic in a minimum time. Also focus that your website content should be related to people who are using android/iPhones.
