Step 1:

You will need to review the Google Adsense program policies and see if your website will qualify for this program. If your website fits the guideline from Google, it is easy for you to apply for a Google Adsense account. The application process is simple and shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to complete the application process from start to finish.

In order to apply for the program, you'll need to visit: "https://www.google.com/AdSense" website page. There you will see an "Apply" button, you must click on. The site will redirect you to the application page where you'll fill out your information as a website owner. This will require you to give your website URL to Goole and the language your website is written in. Afterward, you select the products that you want to use on your site. You have a choice to choose between "Adsense for Content or Adsense for Search". Google does require you to add your email address and your contact information when filling out the application.

When applying for your account, part of the process deals with selecting a "business or individual" account. This is where you'll choose a "business or individual account" to complete the process. There are several policies you must agree to when submitting your application. The type of account you select deals with how the payment is sent to you. If you have selected a business account the payment will be made to your business name, otherwise, the payments will be sent to your name if you've selected an individual account.

Keep track of your "email address and the password" you used when enrolling with Google. You will need this information in order to log into your Google account. After your enrollment has been completed, Google will now refer to you as a "publisher".

Step 2:

After your account has been approved, you'll need to log into your Google account and set up your account. Here you will select "Adsense for Content or Adsense for Search" as your product type. The site gives you a variety of options to customize your Adsense ads

Select, your ad type – this is where you will choose the "ad unit" or the "link unit". Depending on the type of ads you have selected, you will now choose a "text ad" or an "image ad" for your ad units. Google only allows you to use 1 link and 3 ad units for each page of your website. In order to maximize your Adsense revenue, you will need to use the "ad unit" and the "link unit" on each page of your website.

Now select the ad layout that you want to use on your web page. You can choose a 336x280 rectangle ad or a 160x600 skyscraper ad on your web pages. People normally take the skyscraper ads because they say it helps them to earn more money. This will all depend on your site and where you want to display the ads.

The next step is to customize the various colors of your ads. This is not a necessity to do this, but if you want it is an option you can choose from. By choosing your colors you have the opportunity to make your ads stand out and more attractive on your website. I feel that custom colors help to promote your ads and make them blend into your web pages. If not. Google will display the ads and they can clash with your website. You don't want this to happen.

Step 3:

Customizing your filters is a great way to block any and all ads from your competition. You don't want these ads showing up on your website pages, you are there to sell your own products and not products that your competitors are offering. Furthermore, there can be other types of ads that you don't want to be displayed on your site. This is where you will set up your preferences as to what ads you'd like to block.

Selecting "alternate ads" is a good idea and it will help to prevent underutilization of the space on your web pages. Google will display these ads on your web pages in case they don't have any relevant ads they can display at this time. It is a good idea to set this up, otherwise, Google will display charitable ads on your website pages. You won't earn any revenue if they do this.

If you are interested in customizing your "reporting and performance tracking" this is the time to do it. I would suggest that you take a look at the "channels to study" and the "performance tools". These are excellent tools that you should take full advantage of when you use Google Adsense on your website. The tools will help you monitor your website ad performance and help you to make changes so that you can earn the most revenue possible from Google.

Step 4:

The last step in setting up your account is adding the code to your website pages. Google will generate an "Adsense code box" that you will need to copy the content of the box and paste this to your website page. This is an HTML code that you will paste into your web pages. Google will give you a set of guideline to follow when pasting this code to your website pages. Google only allows you to add 3 ad units to each of your web pages. That will give you 3 different places you can paste the code on each page of your website.

Once you've added the code to each page, you'll be required to save the changes. Once this has been completed it will take a few hours for Google crawlers to find the code on your website pages. Once the crawlers have found the code, you'll start to see Google Adsense ads appearing on your website pages.
