The VLC player shrinks your videos without much loss. To do this, open the program and select the "Convert / Save" option under the "Media" tab. Click "Add" and find the video you want to shrink. Confirm with the "Convert/Save" button. Now you have to choose a destination and a name for your new file and click on "Start".
2. Windows Movie Maker
You can also easily compress videos with Windows Movie Maker. To do this, start the program and drag and drop your video file into the right window. Choose "Save Movie" from the menu and click "For Computer". Now you have to choose your destination and a name.
3. HandBrake
HandBrake offers you somewhat more extensive setting options. Once you have started the program, click on "Source" to select your file. Under "Destination" you then determine the target location for your new file. On the right there is an extensive list of presets. However, you can also make your individual settings under the "Video" tab. Then click "Start Encode" to start the conversion. Depending on the setting, your file will be reduced to different extents.
