A Robots.txt file is vital since its the same file where search engine crawlers and robots pick commands a particular website gives them. Many WordPress sites have no such file yet it is very important in every aspect when it comes to such commands. In order to add a virtual robots.txt file, you can simply download and install WP Robots Txt plugin by Davis. Going to reading settings will help you add any commands of choice. You can access it by visiting yoursite.vv/robots.txt and see it in action.

To add a robots.txt file on WordPress, you can follow these steps:
  1. Access your website's file system: You can do this through an FTP client such as FileZilla or through the cPanel file manager provided by your web hosting company.
  2. Create a new text file: In the root directory of your website, create a new text file and name it robots.txt.
  3. Add the necessary code: You can use the following code as a starting point:
javascrip
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
This code tells all search engines to not crawl the wp-admin directory, but to allow access to the admin-ajax.php file.
  1. Save the file: Save the file and close the text editor.
  2. Test the file: To make sure the file is working correctly, you can visit http://yourwebsite.com/robots.txt. You should see the contents of the file displayed in your browser.
Note: Keep in mind that the rules in your robots.txt file are suggestions for search engines, and they are not enforced. Some search engines may ignore the file entirely, so it's important to also include appropriate meta tags on your pages to control how they're indexed.
