Please share any thoughts you may have with me on the internal and external linking of an article from my website.

I am getting it all wrong. Your contribution will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Both are very important. Internal linking helps to reduce bounce rate and make visitors stays longer. Google crawlers use it to access your niche nomenclature or how you structure your pages. On the other hand, Google use backlinks to access and rank your page according to relevance of your content to others.

You could facilitate the work by labelling all these links except sensitive one on your sitemap xml or tree and then crawel work for referencing will be easier and then you guarantee better referencing for your link and your community.

To link internally, use simple vocabulary and keywords to link the article to other relevant pages on your website. When choosing the links, make sure that the content of the pages is related to the article. To link externally, choose links that are authoritative and relevant. Look for sites with good reputations and content that supports the context of the article. Also, make sure to only link to reputable, trusted sources.

Linking within an article (internal linking) helps to provide context, increase engagement, and improve the user experience by making it easier for readers to navigate to related content on your website. External linking, on the other hand, provides credibility to your article by linking to relevant and authoritative sources.
Here are some best practices for both internal and external linking:
Internal linking:
  • Link to relevant and related articles within your own website.
  • Use descriptive and informative link text.
  • Make sure links open in the same window to keep the reader on your website.
External linking:
  • Link to credible and trustworthy sources such as academic journals, government websites, and reputable news organizations.
  • Use descriptive and informative link text that accurately reflects the content of the linked page.
  • Make sure links open in a new window to keep the reader on your website.
In general, it's a good idea to use both internal and external links in your articles to provide additional information and context for your readers, while also maintaining their focus on your content.
