How SAFE is to BUY Online using Credit Card?

I agree with @Vinaya that you should use your credit card in trusted sites only. My credit card is primarily used in online purchases with airline companies because they can be trusted. But with other sites, I opt tobl use my Psypsl account. It is fast and safe.

I mean most sites are safe now to purchase from. Sites like Amazon and eBay will have great protection for your personal and payment details. However I would be careful using it a lot. I mean big sites like Yahoo have been hacked, what stops a site like eBay getting hacked. Most of the time I use PayPal because they also have a buyer protection scheme so I know my money is safe

I don't use my credit card online. However, if you really do wabt to ude then shield your information through payment processors like PayPal.

Just like what @Nocturnal Writer said, opening a PayPal account is safe when doing online transactions. I've been using PayPal for my online transactions and I find it reliable and safer instead of inputting your credit card details with websites as it can be a phishing website and not aware of it. Even in trusted websites or online stores like eBay and Amazon, I still use my PayPal for these transactions just to be on the safer side.

You just have to trust the sites on which you use your credit/debit card when shopping online. This is one key action to always take, personally I am not ready to experiment, as in shop on sites that appears new to me using my card even if they may be genuine. I like go on to popular and well known sites that have good reputation when it comes to shopping online with them.

I have been paying directly when purchasing on some sites online as I knew that those sites were trustworthy. However for the majority of sites I prefer to pay through PayPal. I recently had a problem with a seller and PayPal addressed the issue in a timely manner. If I had been using my credit card then this issue would have for sure taken a very long time to solve.

I think most of the websites these days are with buyer protection so we need not worry. Even if we did not receive the product or received in a unexpected condition, we can return it back and claim the refund. But still i think we need to be aware of the website, its history and its reputation in the market. I have some experience with ebay but they refunded on time.

I think you should make sure that the website where you are buying is reputable as well. But as much as possible, I'd rather use my PayPal on shopping online, or my debit card. Bitcoin wallets can be good too.

As long as you check the source. You see the HTTPS and the valid credit card entry on statement. I think it's fair to say that now a days credit card transactions is fair to use. I have tried it and I have no issues with that. As you can see it'd be surely a good option as well. That being said, it's safe to use credit card these days. there are anti fraud measures as well.

My advice is: do not keep your credit card information "saved" at the particular site for next purchase.
Don't be lazy to key in the information when doing each online purchase.

In my country, we always receive a security code when processing the online payment via handphone, thus I think it helps me feel it is a safe and secure payment. Thus, I always do online shopping rather than on site shopping.

I agree. One should never save the card information. Also one should also make use of netbanking feature instead of card. This way the amount of effort it takes to pay through OTP. It'd be easier than using the card. And it can be safe too. You can also use payment wallet. And that can solve the issue of the money as well. I think credit cards these days have feature of virtual card which is time specific card which gets expired after 1 use.

I have been using my credit card online for a while but I have a special one. It one of those deposit only. So if it would ever get hacked, the person could only use the amount that's currently on the card and nothing more. I don't put a lot of money on there so I feel safer.

I only use trusted sites. Don't buy from anywhere or you will definitely get your information leaked.

Forgot to say, I only do my online purchase at my own laptop, not others, and definitely not thru to those public computers. This is the most important safeguard measure.

If you want to buy something by your Card on the Internet, please first check that site or that person. You should not have any problems with doing this if the site or the person that you are sending money to legit, everything will be fine.

Yes it is safe enough but still you have doubt then use Paypal or payza or payoneer master card as i have experience of using this. There are many people around this world use credit card for online shopping.

I use my credit card only on trustworthy sites. In India, I use Paytm for shopping online, buying transportation tickets, mobile recharge, bill payments etc. Paytm is a payment processor which is quite trustworthy. Buying stuff from unknown sites is risky with credit card.

This is absolutelu safe. Open a PayPal account and referred your credit card. PayPal has a safety verification facility either the seller is genuine or not. Besides PayPal is providing or following up a refund from the dubious seller.

Thank you for this idea. I always go for COD whenever I shop online. If COD is not availble, I am afraid to risk cc info for online purchase.

I think it's more safe these days than the older days. These days most of the websites provide buyer protection so one need not worry and also we can safeguard ourselves by making things private and don't reveal our private codes to anyone

There are some of the sites fishing for the credit card information. And that can be bad for anyone making use of the data. Because unless your card is single use set. I don't ssee that as a good option for adding that card into the system. I am sure that there are people who make use of the credit cards and have no issues. But you never know when things may change. And on that basis it'd be reasonable to add the information the right way.
