As it turns out, the possible factor that caused Bitcoin price dip lately was a massive sellout by PlusToken, a huge ponzi scheme based in China. On Saturday, they liquidated a whooping 13,000 BTC (worth about $120 million before the price crash), this triggers the recent bitcoin price dip. According to a report by some Crypto news outlets, PlusToken is responsible for over $2 billion damages in cryptocurrency-based scam.

There must be something that can keep a check on this ponzi schemes because that scan sites have done a lot of damage to many poor people

This will surely cause a damage to lots of people who had invested earlier before this date with the hope that the price will kick positively. Those people or exchange sites with huge amount of bitcoin are true influential people in bitcoin prices ,I will there could be insider to relate to small investor whenever they decide to flood the market.

The bitcoin prise is starting to recover back to normal, so those investor should get back their investment as long as they don't give up too early.

China is not really known for its strong justice system AKA they don't care as long as hackers there can hurt western-based investors.

That is some really huge amount and to think that they collected all of it from the people by the means of a scam! And yes that dilution could actually have triggered the beerish market

Shame china did it ! I was in fear how PlusToken made such gigantic impact on other cryptocoins! This willbe terrible if again similar thing happens. Very bad for investors then.

Bitcoin price will always be fluctuating, it's normal.

It's not really China's fault. Scammers are existing all over the world. Though, China does partly be responsible since their country's regulation is weak.

So do you know which other countries are involved in this scamming? I guess their (scammers) identity still not revealed. Can a wallet turn to scam ? I think easily it can.

It's not countries, it's just a group of cyber criminals.

They use Crypto Mixer service to cover their transaction traces. It's hard to track them that way.

You mean hot wallet AKA online wallet? Maybe, there's no way of telling.

Mixers are dangerous threats for hacking with untracable transactions. In some cases mixer companies earn well adding a degree more in transaction safety.

The question is can they be tracked, because alot operate anonymously and their identity hidden. But that's a characteristic of a Ponzi scheme it leaves a lot of damage has it goes.

Some news sites say that a handful of the scam group leaders have been arrested by Chinese authorities and that they also stashed some Ethereum in their wallet.

And how do the goverment can fo for it?
This why ponzy scheme base on crypto is so fully of risk and can make global issue like this one.. Hope this will pass away

Thats good at least they could arrest some scammers. I believe plustoken is not the only thing there are more attempts may be we just didn't know as they didn't come on media trend.

This is why I don't like investing on ponzi's , I think those people who invested such amount of money would be regretting it by now . And I think other people should learn from their mistake .

This is why I don't invest on any hyip

Its good to hear that those fraudsters have been arrested, I think those people should be really prosecuted for stealing such a huge money , and those money should be recovered if possible it can be.
