There are many countries that tax every single cent entrepreneurs earn and even alleged returns, apart of to tax for the bureaucracy maintenance. No mind if the business is online or offline.

About Latin America (Mercosur) countries I know
There are countries like Argentina where companies end up closing because the tax system constitutes an heavy burden at the point it's impossible to follow with the business. Uruguay looks like to face the same matter. Brazil stays in a somewhat better condition, but medium sized companies gets too burdened by taxes too. Small sized companies pay between 10 and 27% of taxes on the income, more or less as the Brazilian small sized enterprises.
In any way, to become freelancers in Argentina looks like convenient as to open an individual micro-enterprise in Brazil: in such cases, there is only a small amount to pay to social security in a monthly basis to ensure pension rights.

About south European countries I know
Italian entrepreneurs pay 70% of their income, apart of the VAT and other compulsory bureaucracy.
Spain: between 49 and 61%.
Portugal is very much better than Italy and Spain: small and medium sized companies pay 21% of taxes.

What about your countries?

Those that always refuse to pay their taxes, though may have their own reasons, are the major cause of hardship in the country. This is because government depends solely on tax to generate money than other sources. The more people pay their taxes, the more government will also do much of what they need to do.

Right now, I don't own an offline business. Am basically working online for all the money I earn and I don't think there's any kind of tax that is imposed on my online earnings unless one I am not aware of.

All I do is to get a monthly subscription and work online and at the end of the day, I get to withdraw my earnings to my local currency without a fee or tax.

Well as of now I do not have any offline business talk more of any online business doing now. So I do not know how much people do pay for their tax in terms of their businesses, though the only thing I do know is that it is better to pay your tax early than paying it late because the earlier is the better and to avoid any form of embarrassment or harassment of not paying tax.

How do companies in Europe manage with those hefty taxes? 49% to 70% is outrageous. Maybe they don't declare their total worth or they have some other expenses to include in their business expenses to mitigate the high rate. In my country, I think it's below 20% for registered businesses. Online businesses especially when they're not registered are not taxed. Many small scale businesses are not registered so don't pay tax.

Every country has their own different tax law that they practice. The most common tax that is been pay by most business owner here in my country both small or medium scale is personal income tax. It is a tax levy on individual business profit for a period of one year. It is expected for all business owner to pay this form of tax.

In my country Ghana, any enrepreneur who is operating in a certain business is always taxed at 15% for some years following five-year tax holiday. The Revenue Authority (GRA) is always mandated to asses to collect all taxes in my country Ghana. Taxes can be divided into two namely direct tax and indirect tax. Direct taxs are levied on income or profit where as indirect taxes are levied to undertake transactions.

In our country the people that are in business have to pay income tax which is 19.5% of the annual yearly income and 10.5% is the tax which is general sales taxes and deducted from each sale for a company or a business working online in the market and making sales .

Truly, tax on business has been a cause of collapse of some businesses in my country. The kind of taxation using in my country is hard. The low income earners are paying the same tax level with high income earners.
Yes, sometimes it is not always fair but we have no option than to always accept it like that. In my country, the small business are payinng same amount of tax as the big business always pay. How do you expect the small business to always survive, when they don't earn much as the big business.

Tax charges on online business is also much unless I receive my payment through low processor software. Mostly I allow my earnings to pile up to big amount so as not to feel much.

Actually online taxes is far better affordable than offline own. Actually the offline taxes always seen to be painful because it sometimes have negative effect to the small business more than the big business.

In my country, a business has to only pay income tax yearly. That's even for businesses registered as companies. For all businesses,we pay Value Added Tax which is charged indirectly from financial institutions. It is just 7.5% of the sales price of the commodity.

There's the personal income tax, VAT and then taxes by professional bodies that help in regulating our business.

Most businesses pay between $50 to $1000 per year here on taxes, spread out between the local government to federal levels.

In my country , we are mostly paying 16% taxes on most of the products that we use in our daily life some developed countries pay an much lower amount and that is why we need to make sure if we work hard we can make the tax bracket come down which will always be a good thing for us actually indeed .

The amount of taxes that a business pays to maintain its operations varies depending on the type of business, the location of the business, and the specific tax laws of the country in which the business is located.

I must say that bigger businesses are required to pay a huge amount of tax comparatively to other kinds of businesses. Having said that, there are some of the cases where even big businesses are exempted from paying taxes. For example, when the business is involved in charity programs, the government may ease tax restrictions on them in most of the cases, which seems to be a good thing.
