Hey all,

I am very curious as to how long you have been using "beermoney" strategies to make money?

I am quite a newb compared to some of you :) I've been doing it for around four months.. I began putting more time into it after reading some of the threads that show how much you can actually make if done well. I'm here to learn even more.

I spent a good amount of time researching ways to make beermoney while I was in college, so for about 8 months or so, but nothing ever panned out really well. The only two sites I use frequently are Prolific Academic and Rev (for transcribing and captioning). Since graduating, I've found my full time job and side projects incredibly time consuming, so I only have limited time for beermoney now, but I'm still on the lookout for well-paying gigs!

Nice TheArticulate. And are you happy with your earnings so far or? I mean I know it's not your full time job but still.

I also use Prolific and I'm very happy with them. It's one of the better sites in my opinion.

I have been making Beer Money for around 6 years. I started off with a Q&A site called WebAnswers which has now gone. We had to link our account to Google Adsense which was how how we got paid. I loved it and from that moment on I was hooked. I started to google online earning sites and have been through a few since those early days and although I have done reward sites I prefer to write.

I'm pleased with my earning so far, yes! It really helps because I really only use my PayPal account to cash out on Prolific and Rev, and I have a tendency to kind of forget I have a balance there. So it's nice to log in every once in a while and see that I have a little chunk of spending money waiting there for when I want to use it.

Damn, 6 years? you have to be semi professional by now, haha :) very nice. I prefer writing aswell because it's more steady income than random surveys. I wish I came across beermoney making strategies sooner but hey, can't complain.

TheArticulate, I prefer PayPal too, 100%. It's just so much safer and easier. What is Rev though? I don't know it.

Rev is a captioning and transcription site. If you're a transcriber, you listen to audio clips and write down what the people say, word for word, and them submit it. If you do captioning, you type out what the people in the video say, and then line up the captions with the video. Basically like subtitling. It's a really neat gig, and I've done caption work for a load of interesting videos. Their videos range anywhere form Saturday Night Live sketches to University lectures.

Thank you for the link. I actually have a lot of experience with transcribing and translating due to my university background so this is like an ideal fit! :) Can't believe I did not come across this one before. I did do some subtitling in the past for movies but not in English. So excited to try it.

How hard is it to get in? I saw there's a test that you must take. Also is there enough work to do? or is it like one of those sites where you get asked to do a job once per month, haha. I imagine you can make quite a bit of money though - they say $245 is the avg monthly earning.

No problem! I didn't find it too difficult to get in. I took the test when they weren't hiring, and it took them 6 months to get back to me when they had an opening, so I'd completely forgotten I even applied until I received their email. It was a nice surprise, though!

The amount of work just depends on the clients who use Rev. Right now there aren't any captioning jobs, but there's around 20 or so transcription jobs. However, it's not uncommon for clients to periodically drop a ton of work in. I've seen our captioning queues reach upwards of 1,000 videos before.

I haven't been captioning very much lately, but when I first started it wasn't uncommon for me to make close to $40 a week. I'll attach my earning sheet from middle of last year.

The two columns with times show how many minutes to transcribing I did for the week, and how many minutes of captioning I did for the week.

@TheArticulate Would be awesome if you post some payment proofs in our section to motivate others, of course you can attach your referral link when possible, we like to help each other and members here don't need to post non-ref links ;)

Oh, I see. Nice earnings you got there!

I did my research and googled a bit about Rev and the only negative thing I've found is that they seem to reject people for ''no reason''. That discouraged me a bit but I guess people can just write nonsense and transcribe badly and blame the company. Their pay rates are higher than what most transcription companies offer.

It would be amazing to get in, you are very lucky. I'll try applying when I have more time on my hands because the test seems crucial :)

I used to take odd jobs and donate blood from time to time, beginning around 2012. Was definitely struggling back then! Not as much now, but I still look for opportunities where I can.

I'm also, on Rev and I love it! However, sometimes the task are boring and long. Then you have those deadlines that creep up on you so fast to where it's hard to finish because you are having to keep rewinding and fast forwarding to get the task completed in a timely manner without making any mistakes. The plus is the pay is not so bad.

I started 7 years ago when I joined PTC sites and surveys. Earning too little at that time, until I joined Bubblews which surged my online earnings. I tried out other sites as well where I earned at least good amount too.

I started in 2007 and not yet stopping so far. You can see that beermoney sites are just adding and reduced every now and then. So I am guessing that this year it is all time low. In past there were plenty of them. I think there needs to be more options on the PTC sides but you never get out of the vicious cycle of PTC. It just keeps on growing. So one has to consider what one can do with the available set of options.

I think I will never stop working online. I can even sense that there will be more work in the future online. Hoping more ways to earn online will exist in thnear future.

I am still a toddler here, joined Oct,2016 on mylot and started earning money in Nov and received my first payment in Dec. Earned some money there and for BEER money forum, I started on 11th July, already received one Net Payment of 4.85 $ and now marching towards my second payment.

You are doing very well here. In fact, you are among those richest members at the moment. Hehe. Keep doing a good job.

LOL, you made me laugh buddy. No i am not the richest but yeah i am planning to make this August extra special for me by joining some new websites and put hard yards to do well. I am targeting at least 30 dollars in total to earn from online and I am in hunt of some good legit writing websites.

I started 8 years back and then stopped for a while. Ever since I joined the BMF I have downloaded many apps and joined other forums.
