I have see many sites that request visitors to download Free Ebooks.

They never request your email or any other details but just to download the Ebook.

Does anyone know how do these website owners earn money when visitors download Ebooks?

I do not have much clue and need to analyze the reason. Yet based on my knowledge, I think the advertisers pay the site owner some percentage based on the number of page impressions and the actual download.
The formula might be depending on the contract negotiation between the advertiser and the site owner.

If the ebook is not used as a lead magnet to obtain emails then it likely contains affiliate links. That is where they likely expects the revenue to come from.

Its need a vast answer
See,first of all there plenty of ways to earn money from a downloading site
1:you can add shortlinks
Now lots of shortlinks on internet that pays high rates
2:use ppd
Pay per download
There are 3/4 useful ppd networks that pay high payout all over the world
3:use ads network on site
Like infoclicks, media. net , admaven and lots more
4:sell premium ebook for money
And goes on?

The site might be making money from the ad network used on the downloading site like per impression, then aagain the ebook might include affiliate link that one can click to buy from and money is made by the site owner.

Um, maybe they earn with ascertainment displayed on their websites or pay per click, for you to earn by selling ebooks people need to buy it with actual money and not just download it for free

I guess 2:use ppd --- Pay per download may be one of the ways website owners earn money because I don't see any affiliate links or shortlinks while downloading the ebook.

Thank you for this tip. ?

There are several ways to make money from downloads, such as advertising, link shortener and paid to upload programs. paid to upload program makes money with the highest rate

They got the money from paid per download host, or an affiliate links in their ebooks, many earning sites offer people to share Ebooks in return they get money for every downloaded ebooks.

Many of these Pay Per Download (PPD) sites use a limit rate per 1000 downloads, with different dollar amounts per 1000 downloads. File downloaders are also differentiated from which country, there are several clusters of country of origin. For example, European America in cluster A, where the payment rates are higher than other countries.

There are so many ways to get that done, sometime if you are promoting pay per download program and someone come across the link he like and download the item, then your pay per install account get credited depending on the type of program you where using, you can also get money if you are promoting affiliate program, but that seems to be on purchase that means you get commission for each purchase and not download I think its almost the same, but dont expect to get same amount if you are not from the USA.the us citizen get more higher rate than teir 2& 3 countries mostly for pay per install programs

I think there are affiliated site the person signed up for that will give them some percentage for each purchase of the book that is what i notice

Yes,they can earn in two ways.
1. Pay per download, they're paid for each download
2. There are offers promoted in the free ebook that most readers will purchase.

That's a good way of earning without spending a dime. Great point!

As long as we have a flood of POTENTIAL visitors to our site, this is a great source of side income.

Yes,that's even an easier way because people are afraid of putting their personal email on public offers these days. You'll get tons of downloads if the book is interesting.

Well people don't really like giving out their email address any how because of spam most times ,so if they see something like that they will just ignore it

Yes I was also thinking like this. Because just downloading an ebook doesn't give earning ,there ll be ads like advertisements which give profit to the sellers

Yes,I'm also concerned about that. I won't hesitate to download any ebook online that doesn't require me putting my email. It's better I willing give my email out than been coerced into submitting it.
