i felt so bad, and down, when I realized that I sent my Bitcoin to a Bitcoin cash wallet. Both of them look the same, but are two different blockchain. I didn't realise I was dealing with BTC to BCH transaction. My wallet didn't even reject it for me, since it was a different address from Bitcoin cash type. It allowed me to send to the wrong address, about $25 Worth of Bitcoin was lost. And I couldn't recover the money because any Cryptocurrency transaction is highly irreversible. As such I express deep sadness, and felt perturbed. I have learnt my lessons, I vowed to myself, never to encounter such issues in my life again. I hope no one here, have experience such issues before?? Because I wouldn't love any to succumb to such disheartening mistake.

For me same like this have happened once not long agi while trying to make an exchange for about 12$ at time I was to create exchange order on a website the copy feature made what errir is that I was checking prior rates and in quick click i send it to other exchange but luckily I had tried to start an order of min value which was just changed but it picked that from my saved click and btc went through I thougy its gone my btc but I contacted the exchange and said thus happened and included my bitcoin cash address and proofs from coinbase + screen of funds sent along time and so they sent it back honest people never cheat you out :-)

Don't say that bro it is feel like you have been scammed or some body stoled your money. The hard earned money goes and never come back it is a very bad feeling.

I have been experienced this maybe because I double check the address before sending, just like when I do when I want to send a fiat currency. It's always good to be careful when trying to send money

I haven't experienced this before but the kind of wallet I use, immediately I paste an address it will show me it a wrong address , this has been helpful. What's the name of your wallet @Sincere66 ?.

Mine never showed me so, Bitcoin cash address looks the same with Bitcoin. If you don't look carefully you'll misquote it for another. When I inserted that Bitcoin cash address as a Bitcoin address. My wallet never told me it was a wrong address, it sent the coins wrongly. Up till today, the coins are still saying unspent'.

I just checked to verify this , I wouldn't know the wallet you used but luno or trust wallet won't even give you options to send the coins if you paste wrong address.

That's true, I noticed it on luno, they never allowed me to paste wrong Cryptocurrency address, be it BTC, BCH, LTC ZDASH, XRP, TRXetc. I have never used trust wallet before, I hope more of the same to it. I used crytoswapp to do such mistake. The wallet platform never corrected me at all, they allowed me to input a BCH address to BTC address, i was thinking it was the right one then.

Is so sad to lose hard earn money at this period, that why I'm of the opinion that they should include a way to recover Bitcoin wrongly send to another address.

Yes, that's my prayer, so people won't be losing money carelessly out of their own mistake. Sometimes such mistakes occur, ones finger tips can just touch the keyboard pal before you know, it will delete one word and input another, it became an error. Which diverts the money to the wrong address.

Sorry for your loss bro. It is not easy to watch money leave your possession just like that, especially cryptocurrency. I would alao feel devestated if it happened to me. I wish you luck and i hope you recover the money soon.
Thanks for those words of support, I've recovered the money long time ago. This occurred between the early wave of covid19. When I was just starting with Cryptocurrency. I didn't know much about how Cryptocurrency works, that's why I lost such amount then.

This never happened to me but what happened is i used another wallet to recieve the crypto which they didn't Supports. I was so devastated and can't believe how unlucky i am. I was in the bad mood the whole day

I have never held much bitcoin. So, even if I did, it wouldn't affect me much. But man, if you send large amount of bitcoin to a wrong address, believe me, it's gone. It's the same as losing a property. I would feel bad and learn to always check the address while dealing with any kind of cryptocurrency.

Okay, how did yours got diverted back into your wallet, after requested for payment from a coin that is not supported in their features??

No because they already warned about putting a wrong address will result into my crypto being lost forever. Good thing it's just $10s worth though.

At least you didn't loose much young man. Also, you have learned your lessons, to read FAQ's before going on to make transactions. I'm careful this days when it comes to sending coins into another address. I crosscheck the address thoroughly before sending my hard earned Cryptos into another wallet.

To be honest, I have made a similar mistake recently as well in which i transacted Ethereum to an exchange that does not accept contracts, and this resulted in me losing over 100 dollars in Ethereum, which was very disheartening for me, and it took me a while to get over this, as these were mainly faucet earnings that i was saving up. Of course faucet earnings take a long time to gain, therefore since then i have been very careful when making withdrawals and deposits to ensure that all wallets are supported and the address is right.

Hmm, your experience is a sad one, disheartening type. Thank God you have moved on from such mistake. That's why I don't like transacting through Ethereum, because I don't know the one with smart contract and the one without.

Yes this is true. Now when transact i prefer to stick to the coins that have good transaction fees, such as litecoin and ripple. These coins have low transaction fees and also there are no 'contracts' per say, so it helps as well with not making a mistake like this in the future.
