It has been on my mind for quite a while since a friend of mine and I were discussing what it would take to create your own cryptocurrency and get it registered.

So there were many ideas we had for the name of the coin.
Some of them were taken and some were not registered yet or at least not on worldcoinindex.com

Cradlecoin (after the cradle of humankind)
Matrixcoin
Buzzcoin
Spacecoin
Pirocoin
Plutocoin
Kamcoin
Redneckcoin

How do you register a cryptocurrency?
How do you create it? Can it only be mined?

Purchasing the domain name and putting up a site stating your intention to create a coin would likely be your best bet
Great, thanks for this suggestion. Which one of these coins would be your personal favorite do you think?

I suggest you visit bitcointalk if you want to establish your own cryptocurrency. Also that's the site where other people introduce their own cryptocurrencies to others. I haven't actually submerged myself into how it is made but with all the coding jargon I've been hearing among the users there, I'd say that it's not really easy and requires a lot of knowledge in coding. Regardless however, cryptocureency is not something you enter into on your own but rather with groups of people, announced or not. Also that you have to offer something new that other Altcoins have not been able to provide. I guess that's what makes others altcoins have support and frequent use. Anyway, if you like to still make your cryptocurrency, I'd hope you actually put your 100% and that it would be successful.

Thanks so much for your reply here, quite informative and it seems there is much to consider when getting involved with this.
I will have to start doing some hardcore research! :)

bitcointalk is the best place for your question to be answered. I doubt there are some cryptocurrency experts on this forum but on that one there sure is. Make sure you provide some special bonuses for BMF users if you create your own cryptocurrency :p Would be super cool.

I recently heard that there are some of the people who are making bitshares assets. So thaat seems like a good move these days. not a bad idea from how I am seeing things. I just don't know how some people get into cryptocurrency but can't execute.

No devs no cryptocurrency. If you know a little about coding you might get by copying other big coins since they are pretty much all open source.

You don't need to register your coin with anyone. Beauty of crypto currency, no one needs to be registered. That is why Satoshi Nakamoto is still not found while he was the developer of Bitcoin.

There are various ways to make your coin, I recommend you take time and look them up.

What most people do that cant code, is make a token. Ethereum allows you to make a token without touching any code at all.

I would not have the courage to create a token,as I have no idea how to do it,and to promote it as well,to have investors, who are willing to believe in the created tokens.I think creating your own coins etc it is not that easy as it sounds and requires budget as well.

Creating a crypto coin is not that easy base on the fact that it involves a lot of encoding and how to market the coin at different stages before it becomes launched but with patience and continuous learning could make it a success

Anyone can create their own cryptocurrency. You need to put your currency through Initial Coin Offering. You need a strong development team and a strong marketing campaign to make your currency popular. But remember that 46% of last year's ICO failed.

Well, Creating your own cryptocurrency is a great project but a difficult one, first you need a project or purpose to the coin itself, something that gives worth or strength to the coin, making it an interesting choice for investment, after that you only need enough attention and if you are lucky enough your coin will be profitable

good luck, btw Buzzcoin sounds great.

Bitcointalk Forum has been a forum I have been looking forward to join cos of the vast knowledge been shared there however creating a coin is a thing of determination and access to knowledge

In order to create your own fully functioning cryptocurrency you need a crapton of technical knowledge, and have a solid block of knowledge in cryptocurrency as it is.

If you have the technical knowledge, I suggest you study things like proof of stake, etc.

Once you have a basic layout of what your currency will be, Im sure you can find some VERY basic tutorials for it online, or check Bitcointalk, as Im sure some stuff will be there.

Hope this helps!

In creating Crypto currencies, does it require putting money in order to the project a reality or it just about having the knowledge on how to create it

Creating a crypto currency would perhaps mean a lot of work. You have to first create a site with own host, considering there will be many visitors. Then you should have a mass influence to accept using your crypto.
