Good day great people, I have a domain name I have acquired for sometimes now, but there is a need for me to change the domain name to another name. Is this possible? If yes, how do I go about it?

I mean you can't change existing domain name as it is registered in one or more databases. You will have to register another domain with new name.

Domains don't work that way. When you pay for a particular domain, you are only paying for the right to use that domain name for a specific period (usually one year).

So it's not possible for you to change it. Here are things you can do
1. Ask For A Refund: Some domain providers have refund policy, if you are still within the terms of the refund policy, you can ask them to cancel your domain purchase and refund you money. After refunding your money, you can use it in purchasing another domain.
It is important

It is important to note that refund period are usually very short e.g within 1day after purchase

2. You Can Try And Sell The Domain: There are some marketplace were you can try to sell the domain. Depending on how good the domain is, you can make some money on it and then add to it and use the money to purchase another domain.

Thanks a lot for the nice contributions

You cannot change a domain name. I don't think it happens easily.
Once you buy a domain for use, it becomes registered on different databases and platforms with the registration details or credentials. Changing the domain name is difficult. Perhaps, you can contact your domain provider and state your position. Maybe you can be considered.

let it expire or sell it via afternic, godaddy after market placd, or sedo or budo
then register another.

To change a registered domain name, you'll need to contact your domain registrar. The process for changing a domain name will vary depending on your registrar, but in general, you'll need to log in to your account and navigate to the "Domain Management" or "Manage Domains" section.

Hello! Yes, it's possible to change your domain name, but it involves a few steps. You can either register a new domain with the desired name and update your website to use the new domain, or you can contact your domain registrar to see if they offer a domain name change or transfer service. Be sure to back up your website before making any changes.
