I've never really looked into it but do any hosting companies offer guarantees that they back up your data. I read recently about a user who had issues with their hosting that caused an issue on their site. Luckily for them, their hosting company sorted it out. And that got me thinking, have you checked what your hosting offers in terms of backups (not through the cPanel)? Would you expect your hosting company to help you out if you encountered an issue?

No. Don't rely on your hosting company for backups. They damn well should make them, but you shouldn't rely on that.

Make your own. It's not hard. Get an FTP client, and FTP into your website. Then go to the most root directory you can (typically, that's "/" - one slash) and download everything.

Many-a-time it'll only take 1-2GB at the very most, but sometimes you may need more. You can get 1TB of external hard drive storage for £41 on Amazon.

In case of WordPress, you can consider making use of Vaultpress and plugins to google drive. However in other cases you have to use batch script of some sort to automate this. And it can be pretty difficult to automate. So I think for now we have to either use other services or take the backup manually.

I think every one should back up their web page hosting manually all the time because there is no Grantee when data server will fail however you can keep cloud server alternatively by manually download and upload.

I believe you should work with platforms that support cloud-based backup. These backups are stored in the cloud, and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. They are typically very reliable, and can be restored quickly in the event of a disaster.

It's crucial to know your hosting's backup policy. Some hosting companies offer automatic backups with regular intervals, while others may provide tools for manual backups. It's wise to check if they keep offsite backups for extra security. Customer support in case of issues varies, so understanding their responsiveness and expertise is essential for peace of mind. Always be proactive in ensuring your data's safety! ⚠️💻
