HostGator Reviews

I'm searching alternatives for HostGator web hosting services.

Which web hosting company do you recommend me?

HostGator is indeed one of the best web hosting companies around, but this doesn't mean there are no competitors.
  • SiteGround: They offer three different plans (all prices do not include taxes, and have also been calculated with the current 50% discount): the cheapest one is 3.95€/mo., and also gives a free domain and 10GB of storage, but there's also a 7.95€/mo. one (gives a free SSL certificate for a year, multiple domains and 20GB of storage) and a 11.95€/mo. one (30GB of storage and more freedom, plus some useful tools for e-commerce websites). All these plans give support to Wordpress and Joomla and 24/7 support (you'll have priority starting from the 7.95€/mo. plan, though).
  • Bluehost: Their prices are slightly lower than SiteGround's for the first year (3.95$/mo., 6.95$/mo. and 14.95$/mo., which almost double starting from the next renewal), they offer more storage (50GB for the first plan and unlimited for the following) and offer a free domain: however, they're not Wordpress optimized (you'll have to pay for separated, way more expensive plans for that).
  • DreamHost: They only have a single plan for 7.95$/mo. (if you buy the three years package; otherwise, it will be 9.95$/mo. for a single year or 8.95/mo. for two years) and only give a free domain for the first year, but they'll give you a free SSL certificate, unlimited storage, bandwidth and email accounts, they support Rails, Python and Perl (and PHP5, too) and much more. Wordpress optimization comes with a separated plan, this time, too.
  • GreenGeeks: There's a single plan, too, here, which is 3.96$/mo. You'll have unlimited storage and email accounts, you'll get a free domain (for life), it's Wordpress/Joomla compatible, you can migrate your website here for free (whereas other companies would charge you for that), there's a 24/7 customer service and they'll deal with automatic backups. This is probably the one with the best price/quality ratio.

I have heard about SiteGround, Bluehost and dreamhost, however, I had not heard about GreenGeeks. If I have to choose between these four web host, I think I will go with GreenGeeks. Free life time domain is a great attraction for just paying $3.96 per month for hosting.

Bluehost is a reputable brand name and offers a reliable hosting package. They also offer unlimited bandwidth and storage. Many client sites using Wordpress have their sites stored there without fox technical issues. Those who have used Bluehost for a long time see no reason to contact customer support.

I use Dreamhost. Well, I have been using their service for many years without any problem. The customer support is really great. The cost of the servers a bit more expensive than others but it's definitely worth it.

Going by this analysis I think Dreamhost will be a better option for newbies and others that are looking for a better hostGator alterntive. The pricing is fair enough in my opinion and it comes with good freebies like the free SSL certificate, good storage space and bandwidth etc.

I have really bad experience with hostgator. msot of the time I have noticed that the people at the hostgator are not good with the customer support. another thing is thaat shared hosting has lot of downtime. and it makes hosting with them waste of resources. I'd not recommend.

I do not think that Hostgator support is like before as I used to use hostgator till 2017 and after that I did not get any good support from them as soon as i face problem. However, it is better than many cheap hosting companies.
