❓ASK Have you ever tried making a living flipping domain names?

During the past couple of years I have come across this online business idea of flipping domain names. I've heard a couple of people talk about trying this business model and honestly all of them seemed quite happy and satisfied with it.

I think you have to look out and research for creative and appealing domain names that are still available for sale. After negotiating a great deal on it you can then sell it keeping your own profit margin and I have heard most of the times there is room for making a lot of profit even from a single good domain name.

Anyways this is all I know about it which is the reason I thought why not ask my bmf community about it and try getting some real advice from someone who has personally tried this business model. Please feel free to share any thoughts or advice you may have for me

I have tried domain flipping before, though I have stopped for some personal reason. Then, I did buy some domain from some websites and pack it in other websites. The only problem is that most easily saleable domain have all been exhausted.
That's true but you can be creative and find out domain names that differ a bit from the good one that has already been sold like instead of writing the number in digit write in spelling or use special characters in between that aren't very noticeable . Selling the domain for a profit is the real task here

In my view, there isn't a chance to make a profit by reselling domains in 2022. This business was good maybe for 2010-2015 , but nowadays , you just can buy domain from high trusted companies for low as $1.
Which is better ? To spend $1 for your liked name domain or to purchase some vip domains, which cant guarantee you return of investment.

Domain flipping is a very lucrative gig online. I don't have the needed knowledge yet but I am taking classes currently. I know people that rake in hundreds of dollars every week from this gig. So yes it is very lucrative, just don't start it when you don't have the right knowledge. Don't rush, take your time to learn. That is what I'm doing.

I absolutely agree with what you said bro alot of people get into this business without the proper knowledge or training needed to do it the right way and succeed. Then you see them complaining that it was not a good business model. I also know some people which were able to earn thousands of dollars in profit on just a single domain name that they sold. They say the secret of domain selling is that once you buy a great domain name in a good price make sure you wait and give it some time so that it can rise in value before selling it

To do this, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of domain names and the subtleties of the market for their resale
The first indicator to consider when making money with domain names is the value of the domain name. The value of a domain name is variable. In the world of high-tech, it can change very quickly. A domain name that is not worth much today can acquire a very high value in a short time if a big brand is interested in it.

I have had flipped so many domains, had tried to living through it .I succeeded but I had to spent all that money for my family too. I'll surely comeback to this field with some decent capital. Now I work for a domain company to review domain names to make listed or reject on their marketplace.

I have tried making money with domain name business. I quit the business because I couldn't make sales in the first series of domain name I registered. I was unable to make sense because I don't understand the fundamental principle about domain name buying and selling. You must be able to generate list of prospect that will be interested in the domain name you want to sell if it is geographical area targeted one. If you are selling brand domain name, you must be ready to wait for a long period of time to get it sold. Sometimes it may takes up to 3 years before you can sell a domain name.

Haven't but there are many people that do it and actually the experts that take this business seriously are the ones that are making a lot of money the most important thing is that everyone was once a beginner and they succeded because they tried so if you do that as well you can succeed as well actually

Yes not me though. I have friends that are into this and they are really making it big. It's just a matter of consistency. If you can promote what you do, you'll earn well and you can also make a living from it. So all business is what you can do but always make sure that you do it well.

No, I have not tried it yet, but you can for sure make money from flipping domains. Some people are making money by flipping domains as their part-time or full-time. There is nothing easy, but there are people making tons of money while flipping domains.

On another forum, Nairaland, I heard lot of people talk of it for a while. It seems to be saturated though from what I observed hence it was mainly those who had a lot of experience that seemed to succeed.

The secret is finding a domain name that someone will be willing to pay a lot for, and that's not easy to do.

Domain flipping is not to be confused with domain parking. One needs to have basic knowledge before one can buy an expired domain that is still likeable to be sold within a specific time. That why some people do prefer geo-domain because it has high tendency of getting sold quick.

Domain flipping is a very good onlin business venture.
To my understanding domain flipping is the act of buying cheap domain and sell at higher price and this should expired domain.

Though what you should look out for is the potentials of that domain.
When buying domain you have to look if it is worth buying

For someone that want to make much from domain flipping, it is better for someone not to be listing his domain on some parking websites. You can try to involve in outbound marketing. This will allow you to target highest bidder for your domain instead of selling at a stipend price.

The practice of "domain flipping" refers to the act of purchasing a domain name for the lowest attainable price. After that, you will not make any changes to the domain; rather, you will sell it to a third party for a price that is higher than what you first paid for it. Although there is a lot more to this, the fundamental idea can be summarized just like that.

I haven't still given up in the pursuit of making domain flipping one of my ways of making money, though I cannot focus on it only. This is because there is slim tendency of making money through it these days since the popular extension have been nearly exhausted.

I don't think there's a potential to benefit from domain resale in 2022.
This industry may have been profitable from 2010 to 2015, but these days, you can acquire a domain from a reputable company for as little as $1.

Which is superior?
To spend $1 on your preferred name domain or to buy some VIP domains, neither of which can ensure a profit.

You got the perfect description to how it works. Seriously, it is very difficult these days to scrape through all the stages of making much money using flipping domain, though, it isn't impossible.

I like domain flipping business because you can make good sum of money if you understand how the whole process works.
If you are buying a domain you have to know what type of domain name you are buying.
