I got me a rude awaking this morn, after going to bed at 3 am this morn
I get a phone call from windows that my computer has been hacked
Now before you jumped to conclusions I have checked them out on this.

Here I'm thinking I'm protected with avast & come to find out I'm NOT
so after 2 hrs on the phone & getting things back in order & 50$ later
I'm protected for 3 yrs & it wasn't JUST 50$ to get things in order.

The total price is a 100$ but I can pay the other 50$ in April all I have
to do is call the person that called me this morn about the problem in
the 1st place, so just to make sure everything was on the UP & UP

I called my Debit card people to ask if they could check to see if the
50$ was going to a LEGIT company & they said it was legit & that
they have my $ on hold till they hear from me after I call the person.

So as for now I'm protected for 3 yrs for a 100$ as bad as I hate this
happening & what LITTLE $ I make online it's something that I have
to have so I can relax while being online without having to worry.

After seeing this thread I just remembered a funny story from my college life.

It was the time when my first bank account expired, it was a student account with limited facility. One day I got a call from unknown number stating that he is from State Bank of India(a bank of our country)s customer support team. He told me that my ATM card will be expired after two day. And for not happening this I can send my card details to the person on call or by SMS.

I said him don't block my ATM. I will face so many problem, I will give you the card details by SMS because now the card is not with me. And I am out of time and have to call at home to get the card details, also I don't have enough talktime. Can you please recharge some 50 or 100 rupees (i.e. $1 to $2 dollar). And I cut the phone.

After sometime I surprisingly got a recharge of 50 rupees and call from the number again. I didn't received the call and blacklisted the number.

The funny thing is I didn't knew what is an ATM card at that time, and never used. It was happened in 2009

I'm so sorry and your story is a very funny one indeed. You didn't know about the ATM card and still you asked him not to block your card. Lol. At least we all learn to be more security conscious.

I also got approximately 1$ from the scammer. Actually I love to play with scammers. And I know if they see a hope that they can scam you they will not hesitate to invest some for you. So if you face this type of thing try to scam the scammer. And enjoy.
