Worried that the file you transferred from one Hard disk or Solid state drive somehow damaged or corrupted during transfer? Do you know how to check the integrity of your files so that you can quickly remedy the situation should one of them got damaged in the process? You can do so through a specialized mathematical algorithm called cryptographic hash function or simply hashing in short. With a hashing algorithm, any data or file can be turned into a set of alphanumeric characters, and an identical file should have the exact same hash value should you copy it to any other location. If the hash value is different then you know that the data or file got altered or damaged in some way. This tool is able to generate several types of hash value, like MD5, SHA1, CRC32 and the more modern SHA2 family of cryptographic hash function. On top of that the software itself is free to use.
