Hackers from the "Robin Hood" group are giving crypto ransoms to different charity organizations. The hackers are reportedly targeting reputed organizations and taking control of their systems and asking for ransom in crypto. Charity organizations like The Water Project and Children International have already received some of the ransom money. I think it's completely unethical for those hackers to forcefully steal money and then donate them. What do you guys think of this?

Hmmm, this is like robbing peter to pay Paul. In as much it good to be charitable but it is very wrong to steal from others. Instead it better to tell them to help.

This news could have been a good news if the money was from a legit source . Irrespective of the good intension here , the money is still a stolen money .

That's really funny. They steal huge money and donate a little portion to charity organisations to legitimise their crime. I don't think the gift can be rejected by the benefactors.

Some of the charity organization have actually said that if proven to be from hackers that they will really return the money back to them .

That's good if the money will be returned to the platforms stolen from and not the hackers. If the hackers want to donate to charity, let them do it with their personal funds.

I have seen several related news of them doing so , so I think those hackers should continue to support those charity organizations but they should keep making it anonymous

The problem is that there is no way they will know the platform where the money was stolen from , secondly the charity organization may not be able to return the money as the hackers used dark web

Since the news has been on the web. The platforms has been identified and it can be traced through the transaction ids. The individuals may not be located but you can trace the source of every transaction.

I mean, that would put those charity into a mess if they didn't. Because it's been revealed that they recieved money that's stolen. Would make them look shady aswell as if they're ok with it

It is highly unethical for them to have recieved such funds when they know the true source of the funds , pentagon should be able to track the hackers down .

Ofcourse this is why they need to protect their reputation by not saying yes to such stolen money irrespective of what the money can afford for them

Probably one.of the reason why those give them some of their stolen money then reveal doing so, they're playing with em.

I agree that it is so unethical for them to steal the money even if they are using it for that good course of giving away to charity. If they really want to be good people who are charitable, they could use ethical ways such as fundraisers.

I think they want to paint themselves good or prove to the world that they are not really bad , but this is a wrong conception . Stealing is a sin that's it

They will continue to be bad , they can rub of innocent people to another needies, they should go and work hard to earn and give back to the society.

Ofcourse this should be the plan but due to the fact that most scammers do not want to work hard before earning , they result to scamming for better earning

The government should not watch them keep hurting people they should launch a mass attack or search on them, they can be tracked through the donation process.

I do t think so because they are smart enough to use a method that will expose them . Basically they use mixers or dark web for such transaction .
