Recently a hacker started hacking famous people accounts such as Obama and posted tweets on their accounts telling people that whoever sends him BTC to his wallet, will receive it doubled, and he managed to scam more than 1 Million $ worth of BTC .

you'll fall for it if you are in a very bad financial situation, because as appears, the accounts are legit and belong to famous people that can't scam, the hacker was actually smart

The scams aren't cheap because its from a legit profile account , people that got scammed might not know such happening might take place , and most were because of greed

Well,I agree with to an extent but for people to have bitcoin to donate and receive double I feel they should be updated about recent hack into influential twitter accounts.

Sure they should be updated and enlightened also because someone cannot wake up in the morning and start offering doubling of money ,like the money was easy to get

People easily get scammed because they are gullible or greedy. How do you expect Obama to ask you to send him BTC and he double it- that should sound odd and should have been seen as red flag

Its quite unfortunate that they lost so much to scammers. People should be more careful and wary of anyone- no matter who, asking for money of them. It will be difficult, if not impossible getting back their money

It really odd , all I was thinking is that most people might have invested all their of money on the scam been posted, I think people that really lost their fund should be altleast compensated when proven

this didn't happen only with obamas account, a lot of presidents and rich people accounts got hacked too, the hacker went really crazy mode with that

well it sounds fishy for people that are quite old in online money making domain, but people lost a lot of money in this pandemic, so that was the hacker's chance to scam people

The truth is that I don't fully feel sorry for those that lost their money in twitter scam , they were greedy to have fallen to such ponzi scheme.
How could they think that top verified twitter account like those hacked account will be into such ponzi activities ?

we shouldn't call them greedy, because everyone who's into hard financial times would do the same especially that this scam isn't obvious as it's announced from a celebritiy's main account

Kinda surprised how people fell into a simple ponzi scheme, maybe because the account that posted it is a celebrity?, people should be careful with these ponzi schemes even if the person posting is famous

Yea. Many people lost their money to this scam because it was not just coming from anybody but from verified twitter account of influential people in the world .

Yea. I don't think that anyone who has been online for a long time will fall to such a crap scheme .
If these influential people wants to do giveaways , they don't need them to deposit any money .

I believe strongly that the hacker has someone inside twitter that helped him . think of it , how come up to 3 top verified influential people's account be hacked all in same time .

It might be , I think they should do more investigation because nothing is impossible , even a ex yahoo employee was caught recently ,anything is possible
