Why not if it still boils down to making money,from that link you shared, it is indicated that one can still run the old AdSense while still going into partnership with these new partners.I believe it still for the good of publishers.So for me I will totally agree to this.

I would say if you want to establish a media company then you can get the certification. I have personally found out that it is not much that mattes. but having the certification tells you that person have spent the time trying to learn the things. and that's something we have to consider for getting the results. and having more leads on that basis. and another thing is that certification is somethign we have to learn to learn if we choose to work with clients who need that service.
