GIMP is a free photo editing & image retouching tool that's considered as a photoshop alternative , it exists on windows , mac and linux .

PROS :

Free
Easy to learn and use
simple user interface

It's not hardware demanding , so as a beginner you won't need to buy a PC to learn about design and similar tasks

CONS :

Kind of limited in features .

it's a decent software indeed , in fact , you can make gold with every simple software you get on your hands and only if you're creative enough :)

Hey there, yeap have heard a lot of good stuff about the GIMP software and have seen many of my friends use it for photo editing, so perhaps some time in the future, I download it too.

sadly we cannot not leave photoshop because there is no alternative to it

Well, i already stated this in the topic, this is just a small alternative and not a full alternative, photoshop is purely designed and made for professional works

Yeah for sure, photoshop really is the elite, upper-echelon designing program, that may never be replaced unless maybe another massive corporation like Adobe, creates a photo editing software

Gimp offers all selection tools. The retouching functions and contrast correction also meet high demands.
But as soon as you work with several levels, the program hangs. Okay, 8 GB of RAM on the laptop is a joke too. Still it should work.
Adobe is no longer an option for me because I find it a mess to collect a monthly subscription. With which I give Gimp points again.
