Greetings y'all! My pet project for this year is to start my own niche art site, and after doing some research I've discovered that I'll probably need to use PHP. I am familiar with CSS and HTML, but PHP is entirely new to me. I've just started learning about it, but at this point I'm still in that 'I don't know what I don't know' phase.
Does anybody know of good resources for learning PHP? Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Try to look for some youtube tutorials. It will help you get started, seeing as you already know HTML and CSS it won't be to hard for you pick it up.
If you need some extra tips you can always take a look at w3schools.

http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp

I've found some YT tutorials, they've all just been a bit... unprofessional. Maybe I'm being too picky, it is free education afterall, eh? I'll definitely check out W3. Thank you!

As they say you get what you pay for, normally you will find people loading up some tutorials to try and get people to go to their sites. I don't know if lidia.com has lectures in php but they are much more professional. w3schools is free but is the exception to the rule, it's actually very good.

You can find many free tutorials on web. For DIY kind of learning, youtube is the best platform. Howeverm if you are serious about learning PHP, never rely on random articles or videos, look for experts' tutorial. Invest on Tutorial DVD or course.

Ive learnt on Tizag as it was my favorite site where I spent much time with their great examples. My best suggestion is join with someone and work under them for free at the beginning so you will be learning everything.
It's not hard for learning PHP because you already know CSS and HTML.

you can try to search w3school, there is a tutorial there about html, css and php or you can try to watch a tutorial video in the youtube for the sample coding of html with php code. but try to start with the basic one.

I believe one can easily get good tutorial on PHP from YouTube, I'm learning about transcribing and I have found very good tutorial on YouTube, maybe you are a bit picky, you can take a look into more of them before concluding there are all very unprofessional. you will get a good bits of them
