I couldn't take it too. Imagine how hard to stay in bed for 2 months. When I got sick and had stayed in bed for several days, I wish I could recover right away for it's too uneasy to stay in bed too long. Though, the pay is really inviting for it is a huge money by doing nothing except staying in bed.

Well, this is a really attractively sounding post and very tempting. I couldn't go for it though as I have two dogs. Who would walk my two dogs? Even if I got someone to walk my dogs for two months, I would lay there feeling jealous that I had given up my freedom for that time.

In our country, the value of Euro currency is a lot of money. It is Php52.51 to a Euro. That means EUR16,000.00 is converted to PhP840,160.00. That is impossible for a Filipino to earn from their meager income for two months of such big money.

Wow! that does work out as a lot of money when exchanged. It is still a lot of money for us too, I am in the UK. Still, my two dogs would miss me (hopefully) I would find it very hard to sleep because of thinking about them. Then again, if I could take them with me to see them during the waking hours I would be happy enough to go ahead with the project.

As good as it sounds I personally would not like to do this. I mean a whole 60 days in bed, not being able to move or do anything interesting other than watch TV, play games etc. Would someone be in the room with you for the 60 days as well? Because I mean they need a way to check whether you're actually staying in your bed the whole time. I don't like the idea of having to do all your toilet needs from your bed as well

It is interesting that the experiment would be held in a space institute, but I think I would go crazy to leave my head in one place. One certain position for 60 days! I think that would be really difficult. I would want to move my head. The urge to move my head would make me forget that I can't walk my dogs and totally consume me!

Surely this would bring about muscle waste, especially in the lower legs. When the person eventually gets to stand up I think they would be very wobbly and need help to stay standing. No, this isn't for me, it takes a special kind of person with great willpower to do something like this, and so, in turn they would really be worth the payment they receive.

Not to mention that if they don't allow you to move around much, you'll get pressure sores from day 3...now imagine how those open sores would end up for the next 57 days. People in hospitals get pressure sores all the time and don't get me started on what kinds of gnarly infections they get from those sores. So a good question would be: Would you really want to mess your body up for $16.000 ? Personally, I wouldn't do it, certainly not when the recovery alone would cost me half the reward money and lots of wasted time in physiotherapy, all while unable to get a physical job.

So really they should be paying double that amount. Or maybe treble to counteract the losses it would cause. It must be really hard. Who can stay in the same position for two months? It's got to be virtually impossible unless you are paralyzed. But they are asking for fit people. But they would have to move at some point to vacate themselves. They can't do that where they lay.

Actually, you can, if they insert a urinary catheter and use diapers...or at least that's what they do to comatose people, and it seems likely that they will do that to every participant since some people go to the toilet more than thrice a day. This makes it all the more horrid, catheters are also a very good source of infections, even if it's changed frequently because it causes microtraumatising to the urethra.
The more I think about it the worse it sounds...

It seems tempting, but... As much as I love staying in my bed, I don't think I could stay in it all this time. However, I think somewhere in the world must have someone "crazy" enough to accept that challenge (and I think this is the "magic" of the world... diversity).

By the way, the prize/money is a great amount, right? :)

Haha. Guess we all agree that as appealing as the initial offer of money might be, the attraction soon fades when we realise how long 60 days actually is..

I honestly could not do it. I once stayed in hospital with a broken foot for two weeks (couldn't move) and I thought I will go crazy.. even with the tv etc. it is insanely hard.

I mean if you think about it, why else would they pay such big amount of money if it was easy?? you have to be pretty desperate or extremely lazy to be able to stay in bed for so long.

Even if you are lying down, having the same position for long hours will still makes you feel some pain in your body. I already experienced lying in the same position for more than 14 hours and mostly the pain is coming from my butt to my lower back. It was very painful. You can try to talk with your brain and be positive. You can do it for 72 hours the maximum by thinking about 16,000 euros but for 2 months, it would not be easy.

@Grecy095 I'm experiencing same butt pain, actually less than a week ago I had my worst pain ever, Ido full time money online and I stay more than half a day working on my sites, yeah I have a 400$ gaming chair but still doesn't help.

I was able to release the pain with long walks and a pain cream, I highly recommend it.

At first it sounds attractive. But if you think about it it is pretty bad. You would have to lie down for 60 days and not be able to socialize or play or do anything that you usually do. It would also cause a lot of pain as many already said it here. And last but not least, they wouldn't pay that much if they thought it was easy.
