The Germany telecommunication authority has decided to deliver a three-month ban to Facebook as the tech giant plans to roll out its new Terms of Service for the popular instant messaging service, WhatsApp. The authority has deemed that the new terms of service is way too invasive, and endangers users' privacy. They're also cooperating with the European Union so that the member states are to follow the same steps as theirs.

Facebook should consider the users privacy ,i just wish there was a competing platform, they would have considered the terms before rolling it out ,so they won't lose customers

its good facebook is never recommended theses days and europe is strictly aginst such things this was definitely on the cards and im sure facebook can be fined as well now as happened with big companies like google before for its meek policies on users data

The user privacy should be given most importance. Now a days , such data leak has become a new norm. It's good that your country has taken a strict step for data privacy, at least Facebook should respect the users privacy and should avoid collection of user data, let it be for any reason.

My country haven't taken a step in that ,i wish they do ,because the citizen in my country aren't bothered or doesn't know that their data are been stolen

Also In my country India, user privacy is heftly compromised. People are unaware of the fact that such social sites keeps on accumulating our data and then breach such data for their own benefit. The govt is not interested to look into this matter at all.

I really rhink it's bad to share user data without prior consent. It's really good that germany has looked into this
One by one every country is taking action on data security issues. Facebook is just taking the stake by increasing rge data collection from the users. Such data could be sold with thousand of billion of dollars

Facebook is always at the helm of invading privacy issues and I wonder why there is no tangible thing done to change that. I guess making money off that is more important than users' concerns.
Not only once, even after repetitive notices from various bodies, facebook doesn't seem to listen to it. Their money matters more than their user's privacy. Already they have violated user's secrecy many times.

I really do not understand why Facebook is so adamant about trying to get more information about its users. Right now so many people are beginning to become educated and do not want their information to be shared so much on the internet any longer and I think Facebook should be aware of this and try to respect this kind of decision.

I think that they can try and do something about it bu the chance that it will actually work is quite small because there is a list of rules and regulations or terms and conditions that people agree to when they are using the service and therefore it could already be too late.

The problem is that no matter what ,when the person have created an account ,the person personal information would be shared ,I think it's one of the disadvantage attached and the reason most of the Facebook users are deleting their profile or putting up a fake one ,so that the profile would not be used and be given to advertisers to advertise on targeted ads

That is true, however i think that you should have the option about what information you do want to share and make public and they should not sell your information to other advertising companeis because that is really an invasion of your privacy as well.

This is the particular angle that I wish you show me their users are going to be viewing this from. It is almost impossible that the data is not going to be shared because that is the biggest way in which the social media networks are going to be generating their revenue. The concern is the level to which this data is going to be shared

That is true, however i think that people should have the power in order to decide which of that information that they would like to share with the people and which they are confortable with letting the retail companies know in order for the socialmedia to mmake money.

I understand that a lot of people have had their displeasure with Facebook about how they have been handling customer data but I really do not think this is the way to go about it. All social media networks collect customers information in one way or the other and they usually do this to gain revenue.

It is true that they all do collect information when it comes to social media however i think that the user should have a choice on how their data is used and how they are being sold to other advertising companies as well. and therefore i think that this is a major breach in privacy.

I understand that a lot of people are beginning to become very conscious about the kind of information that is being shared about them online but that leaves me to ask him what if somebody wants to change a social media network and does not want his privacy to be shared with any external company. This means that you should share media company will not be able to generate any kind of revenue whatever.

Facebook is one of the social media giant and it's influence is really a thing to be concerned about,I don't know the level of security measures put in place to show that our dealings on Facebook are encrypted.
I feel it's best for the social media platforms to maintain privacy and avoid bridging our data to the sister platform.

Is this only happening in Germany's then what of other countries ? I don't really understand how this Facebook terms and condition really work, does it really mean that it is different on each countries ? Because I have never heard another country complaining about this.
