I'm looking for a company that is offering free domain names, it could be anything from .com, .net, .org, .info to .biz and anything, I just need a domain name quickly, I'll point name servers to my free web hosting for forum. Thanks!

Maybe the poster misread the post. I've never seen TLD free, maybe a penny plus tax and I've seen one company offer them free once but it was a limited offer and came with a few strings (it only worked on the US site and tax was charged, plus ICANN fee). The bottom line is if it is free then you have no actual contract where you have any rights to use it. When you pay, it gives you some rights therefore if it's a domain you want to keep, then pay for it.

I think .tk and the likes are free atleast for the first year with no strings attached, after which you would need to pay for the second year. The problem here is the extension, it's not good nor popular, I think that is why they do offer it for free atleast for first year. Plus an average internet user does not know that there is a domain with a .tk extension.

watched a youtube video tutorial where someone show that .tk and other domains are free and easy to use with wordpress site. I wanted to apply but didn't as someone says in the comment per month $10 is required.

Buying a .com is good you know. A .com is king when it comes to domain extensions especially like what you intend doing. It has advantages over other extensions too.

There are quite a few free domain websites available.. dot TK is the well-known free domain provider.. you can try it..

I have several .tk sites but they were ones I used as test ones and others are used as forwards now. The problem is very few free hosting sites allow .tk domains because of so many spam sites. You can pay for hosting, and forward it to a wordpress site but few hosting sites will allow them.

There are many cheap domain with .com format, so there is no need to use a domain for free which have no value in search Engine, even normal blogger blogs have better result then them.

You won't get a com., org, .info or .biz domain name free anywhere unless you are paying the company for hosting. So you'll be paying for that domain name anyway.

The only free domain names you'll get are .tk, .cu.cc., .co.nr and .tf. There could be a few more but these ones are the easiest ones to register. I had a .cu.cc domain name for a little while . . .

And as @Vinaya points domain names are very cheap. For $1 or less you could get a .com domain name.

Free domains will also require purchase something like hosting etc or something that helps domain service providers. Nothing comes absolutely free.

I think GoDaddy is best with cheapest rate,its good to know that free domains are not best and paid are best and work .you should use paid one or best one to get good results for your bussiness purpose otherwise many problem will occur in choosing free host ,thanx !!.

You have options for how long you want to own the domain up to 5 years I believe then you can renew before it expires as well before anyone has access to buy it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will also look into it although I wanted a domain only without purchasing a server or paying for hosting services

Namecheap is likely to offer some good offers on cyber monday and black friday. So that time is here. You can surely invest into that if you want. Godaddy not sure about it. It seems like they do too have some of the offers duirng this season. And also they do invest their time and money on stuff during the christmas on such offers. so that does sound likea good option if you ask me. it is not that bad at all.

Domain names are almost free from the domain giants,a domain name for as low as a dollar to me is free in my own opinion,so just invest a bit and get a better extension.You can just work free days on BMF and get a thousand coins cashout and ge your domain name with it.
