I am member to a number of article writing sites and could earn some decent money from most of them. But the big issue with article writing sites is the lack of transparency in pay structure and also writing a lengthy article is quite tiresome at times. Forum posting job does not demand lengthy write-ups and so, it saves a lot of your time. Forums mainly look for good ideas which are expressed in short notes called posts. Another advantage of forum posting is that it gives an opportunity to learn from others experiences and ideas. Fruitful interaction is the key in forum posting. Pay structure in forum posting jobs is very clear and easy to understand.

Which one is your preferred area – forum posting or article writing?

I prefer forum posting because of short posts that compares to article posts. I will get bored for writing content to my own blogs. Forum posting gives excellent information to learn and share with others.
I have seen so many forums are in competition to pay per post, however not interested in them because of no time.

I prefer forum posting jobs because you can go through many topics and learn a lot in a short period of time, with articles, you can spend several hours on just a topic or two.

Currently, I am earning more from forum posting than writing articles. However, if I am able to find a good paying article writing job, article writing is more lucrative.

So you just told me something new..never even thought to apply for article writing. I would like to research these opportunities. I love forum posting and learning new ideas. I have many online ventures that doing this type of work helps me gather pertinent information from successful people and add it to my data bank in my brain. You can not beat the free information you get just form networking in Forums...I love it.

I am not really good at article writing I would say because it requires you to write about a specific something that I may not know a book reports worth of words. Forum posting feels more like chatting with family and friends while providing informative information, sharing your expertise on something you may know or even just giving your opinion on something you might not know much about. I don't much about great places to make good money forum posting or article writing, but I think forum is best in my opinon.

You need writing skills to write articles. Apart from language, you need to know about content form and substance if writing. However, in order to post on forums, your skills on language is enough. As long as you can write grammatically correct and you have knowledge on the topic, you can be good with forum posting.

I have found that writing articles take a great deal of time and energy. You have to be very consistent for a longer period of time. I am just not that skilled to stay on topic, unless it is something extremely interesting, or it is truly a passion of mine. I n that case I can talk all day.

Here are the pros and cons for both.

Article Writing Pros:

1. Higher pay
2. You can find topics that you want to focus on
3. You have many options: content mills, article contribution sites, or blogging
4. Flexible schedule

Article Writing Cons:

1. You can get rejected
2. Time is wasted when you don't get approved
3. Pay is higher but for content mills, it's not that high for the time you spend on one project
4. Approval for articles takes a long time sometimes

Forum Posting Pros:

1. Pay is already setup
2. You can find topics you also want to focus on
3. Job is not boring
4. Very flexible schedule
5. Posts are approved easily

Forum Posting Cons:

1. Lower pay
2. You can get low ratings if you don't provide good content
3. Flexible schedule but you would need to spend a long time to earn a few dollars a day

I am just becoming familiar with forum posting. I have been enjoying this tremendously and I will eventually get into articles. One day at a time I say....and at this time forum posting might be at the top of my list.

I enjoy both personally and will do as much of either as I'm able to do. I find it interesting to post shorter things on forums about a number of different subjects but I also find it interesting to post a longer article on something that I find interesting. That being said, if I don't have any interest in a subject then the likelihood is that whatever it is I'm writing on I'll get bored and have to struggle through it. On the other hand, if I enjoy the subject then I can write a lot, and quickly too.

I suppose if I had to choose, and I'm allowed to be more specific in my decision, I'd choose writing articles but only on subjects I enjoy. Wouldn't it be great if that was always an option?!

I have done both and I enjoy both. I love forum posting because it is easy for me because it is basically like having a conversation with others. But, the pay makes it hard to earn a decent living doing only this. I love article writing because the site I write for the most is usually fairly easy to please. however, they do sometimes take longer than I'd like to approve my work and I wish they had more work available.

I worked as a professional forum poster on several topics I am an expert in nearly a decade ago when it actually paid to do so. Now, again I have to mention that wages went down the drain for a variety of reasons. Most of those reasons have to do with Google updates and Adsense changes that made it financial impossible for forum owners to pay a reasonable wage for forum posters, good or bad.

You can't even live moderately in a 3rd world country now on what you would make as a forum poster if you worked 8-12 hours a day.

Although I have written some articles, I prefer the forum maybe because I have a short attention span. For long posts in forums, I don't normally read until the end, I stop when I already get the gist. What more if I would be reading articles? And posting in forums is more enjoyable since it is just like a conversation that is not interactive, meaning I have the time to think of what I want to say so I can fully express my idea.

Personally I find blog/forum commenting is better than article writing. The forum posting websites give much quicker payouts, are more reliable, and generally have more work on offer. Individual articles do generally pay more per word though, which is something to take into consideration.

A lot depends for me on what the article is about and who your writing it for. In the past I've wrote quite a few articles and earned a decent amount of money, but as time went on, the sites I wrote for got either taken over or they just couldn't compete with the amount that in the market now.

There's nothing wrong with forum posting, but you have to still make sure your spelling and grammer are correct for a start. It's not just a secondary way to make a bit of extra money, you have to take it seriously or you shouldn't bother doing.

I was very interested in article writing as I love writing and even more love typing. After doing research it just seemed like more work than it would be worth in the end. There was one site(and for the life if me U cannot remember what it is, I have it written down somewhere) that after researching it seemed promising. It was something I could do and get paid. Well after registering I got like 50 free bids to bid on projects. I waited and just after everything it became too much of a headache.
I was lucky enough to find this poostloop. It took me maybe 30 minutes to learn how everything works and how to navigate the site. Not only to I get to write(type) but I get to voice my opinion, get feedback and communicate with others like me. So far I enjoy forum posting sites compared to article writing.

For now, I prefer forum posting because earning from article writing websites depends on how much viewers you can draw to your articles. With article writing websites like iWriter, you have to be a good writer, and can possibly have your write-up rejected. With forum posting, rate is fixed.

I have noticed that forum posting jobs are very less. In fact they are not even jobs but more of random tasks. They don't last long but they can generate enough good money that you can use to save in short time. IN case of writing jobs, I'd say they are good if you get them consistent. There is a lot of competition. And you have to find out the rate which suits you. Lot of buyers pay low for article writing jobs. I'd say make sure you don't spend too much time into this type of article writing jobs.

I actually do both. I write articles and it can take me up to two weeks or more to complete a single article. The reason is that I normally have to undertake lots of research and ensure that I have the right information. As for forum posting this is much easier and something that I do in a daily basis. I just have to share my views about things and I also get to learn about others views by going through the different discussions.
